A few years back New Line was folded into Warner Brothers due in fact to the horrible decision made by the New Line executives on selling the overseas film rights to the Golden Compass film. The idea was it was the 1st film in a series due to the books. But due to this decision and fact overseas gross could have made more films happen , it didn't. Warners soon folded New Line due to this blunder and as it was said "This was the final straw...for New Line".

Wich is why marvel has blade back. we just need to get GR back and Boom Midnight sons movie!!!

Do they have Blade? I thought WB still had him. I know they can do cartoons, but I thought New Line still had the movie rights.

Or maybe Lions Gate has those cartoon rights, I don't remember. Or they had them or somethings a few years back.

Well given that Marvel and studio behind the last Ghost Rider film did a decent $130+ million worldwide on a $50+ million dollar budget for the film...I doubt the rights go back so soon. I can see them doing the $50-$70 million dollar films of Ghost Rider again.

The Golden Compass was a decent movie but with all the controversy about the supposed atheistic rants in the media i was a little disappointed that there wasn't really any of that.
