Since Ted Salis has long departed, the Man-Thing is just a plant creature who guards it's territory. Wouldn't it be cool idea for the Man-Thing to use Peter Parker as his new avatar with a conscious mind like the Swamp Thing? Imagine the Man-Thing merging with Peter Parker to form the perfect creature who might be able to tap into what's left of Dr. Salis mind and recover his Super Soldier material? Imagine the mind of Peter Parker allowing the Man-Thing to finally communicate with people for the first time? Imagine the Man-Thing becoming the creature who saves the Earth with Peter Parker's mind at the helm? Does anyone like this idea?

That isn't left field. That's out the stadium, past the parking lot as everyone leaves 5 minutes early to "beat the rush" at the same time, beyond the rooftop party across the street, and so far across the globe that it ends up back at the stadium's entrance scratching its head over why the ticket booth is closed, unaware that its watch is set to Hong Kong time.

It would be fun if Mephisto places Peter's soul into the Manthing as its new avatar.
Since Ted Salis wanted no part of the Manthing, Peter Parker should be perfect for the creature.
The Manthing would become a hit when the readers realize that Peter now resides within the creature.
