Redbird would be acceptable, but for my money nothing will beat Redwing. I mean, he's a "graduate of the Robin program" so homaging Nightwing is an easy move. Even Batwing homages Nightwing, and I can't remember exactly when Batwing's name turned up in the 70's/80's story, but Dick becoming Nightwing was a new concept then.

So it recognizes Tim's graduation from being Robin, homages one of his best friends, brothers and mentors in Dick Grayson, and indicates that he's retaining more of the "Robin" elements - the color red, the bird-themes - than Dick did. After all, Dick still a bird basically re-embraced his acrobat/trapeze lifestyle with his motifs, with a slight predatory bird angle.

Yes, Redwing. Just to delineate him from Robin a bit more and separate him from the burger franchise.

Tim does need a new name...

But first, he needs a new costume that Booth and Lobdell didn't spit out. I think the stupidity of his current costume has been covered...But damn, no one should be wearing that in 2012, especially not Tim Drake, the smartest former sidekick in comics.

Seriously, just put him back in his Robin suit and call him Other Robin for all I care. Robin 3. I don't care. Just fix it.

I am more than tired of color+name=code name. However, as a nod to is Robin heritage, his name should have a connection to some type of predatory bird such as eagle, vulture, hawk, owls (whoops...did I actually say that?) I prefer "The Hawk" but that' just me.

That's just awful. A color designation is the source of all great comic book hero names. Tim is not an aggressive character and he shouldn't have a name that might associate him with Hawk and Dove. On top of that, predatory bird names are so 90s. Might as well call him KillRobin or something.

I think he could get away with just being called "Robin". Damien is still in training, not to mention he is rarely called "Robin" by fans or anyone else. Damien is Damien. In a Robin costume.
