and yet we have 4 robins in a 5 years continuity
what Barbara's network?I wouldn't expect Cassandra or Stephanie to don any bat suits unless it's Batman Inc. related and with Batwoman around adding more Batgirl's is going to be as bad as the Robin thing. My experiences with Cassandra are a bit with No Mans Land and mostly her involvement in the Justice League Elite as Kasumi which was a great setting for her since she worked with Batman undercover so she had a tie to the Batman family but she was still able to contrast her character with the rest. She seen in the purple and red here btw:
I think the farther you get her away from the Batman legacy stuff the better chances she has of not being marginalized but I wouldn't cut all of her ties to them since I think the history between her and the Bat family is worth being retained. I suppose another good role for her would be as a supporting member of Barbara's network similar to how Barbara was part of the Birds of Prey but we'll see if Gail tries to attempt that.
Exactly. She can be Katana in codename but have Cass's name and backstory the way they gave Tim Jason's back story and personality in BTAS. No Batgirl needed. Praying to cartoon gods. Considering this series seems to want to utilize newer or more obscure characters and villains or use them in a different way (and haven't shown any indications of a Robin or Batgirl at all) that haven't been used before really it would also be really great that if it is Cass that they could also introduce Spoiler too as a friend for her.
my point is, she is not under any circumstances pull something like that
she is barely relevant in the current BoP and most ppl think is one of Choke's spies
this is something that i could perfectly expect from Steph's book , Cass was the one who proposed the Network idea in the first place
You have a lot of your facts scrambled. Gail was up for writing Barbara, but when they changed their mind and made it Stephanie, she bowed out.
Again, it was DC's decision to leave TKJ in play, along with Babs' former paralysis, though it was a decision Gail concurred with. (As if writers even had the power to make demands on the publisher, sheesh.)so they try again with the New 52 since they had the excuse of full reboot, and this time Gail accepted, WITH ONE CONDITION, DC had to leave The Killer Joke in continuity(and by that i mean only 3 pages of it) so that Babs was recovering from the back injury
As stated above, DC did NOT want a full reboot. You've really gotten very little of this correct.so just for the record, DC wanted a full reboot on her
everything else is her fault
Jim is actually a fan of and has enjoyed all versions of Batgirl, as unheard as that may seem on this forum. And for the record, vc, I haven't deleted anything in this thread.

right, i got that one mixed
im very certain thats not trueAgain, it was DC's decision to leave TKJ in play, along with Babs' former paralysis, though it was a decision Gail concurred with. (As if writers even had the power to make demands on the publisher, sheesh.)
I swear that i saw Gail saying that DC wanted the full reboot
can you show some hard evidence on this
No because cartoons do nothing for the comics and this new cartoon has its own sorta canon it seems.
Tim Drake was only Tim Drake in name only in BTAS compared to who he was in the Robin comic at the time, he was really a pluckier, less angry Jason with Tim's haircut.
Unless Robin and or Batgirl show up I think Katana will be the only main sidekick here in the new cartoon. She appears younger than Tatsu in the comics, but then again Katana in Brave and The Bold was a young girl. Katana in the cartoon in the released image of her she doesn't look a thing like the reboot Tatsu nor none of her former costumes either. She's head to toe in black with a domino mask. Considering her age and the black attire that's why I hope it's Cass.
I just thought of this, I mean I'd hate to get rid of Bette and Dick, but Cass and Stephanie could be, if the mantles were open, a pretty effective Nightwing and Flamebird duo.
thats actually a very good point
honestly i hope is not cass cause that actually opens the possibility to have both hereUnless Robin and or Batgirl show up I think Katana will be the only main sidekick here in the new cartoon. Hmm. Strange, is this Jim. Hope this Jim took my post in the (mildly humorous) context. Because otherwise he might start monologuing in the third person and my head might explode. And it seems that Jim was the one who mildly implied being a Babsgirl fan from way back was inconsistent with liking other Batgirls.
