How do you think they come up with some of the stuff for JRPG’s?.
I LOVE JRPG STORIES!.The fact that a person can a scholary article on one of the games (this link http://etd.ohiolink.edu/view.cgi?acc_num=csu1242246706 and go to "download full text") shows that this series definately has something going on for it.Sometimes they don’t even use Western fantasy tropes with origins in .J.R.R. Tolkien or Robert E.Howard or not even anything that is based too much on mythology.Narrative-wise I think they “visual novels” helped develop them.Sometimes the stuff that they come up with is so original. Also they sometimes hit a very peculiar and AWESOME balance of sci-fi and fantasy like with the Final fantasy games. Now stuff like that is truly worthy of being put considered examples of the science fantasy genre:regardless of whether there is sci or tech central to the plot that’s semi-plausible or possible with with known scientific principles and limits there is always magical elements mixed in that uses alternate or imaginary sci and tech that’s impossible with real scientific principles and limits. An example of science fantasy in the FF games would be the magitech robots from the 6th one.Where do you think they get there inspiration from though?.Anyone know of any websites, books or magazines that discuss such stuff by chance?.
