The success of Jean's female copies often overshadows the fact that Marvel has also used Jean's iconic imagery and abilities on male derivatives as well. This thread is to speculate why characters like Rusty Collins, Banshee, X-Man, Quintin Quire, and many others aren't as popular as Maddie, Hope, Fongji. Is it just the feminist nature of X fans that gives presence to female characters? Why do you think these male Gene Grey's are less than their female counterparts?
