I remember a couple years ago when for April Fools DC announced Vibe: Rebirth. Johns and Ethan Van Scier gave a fake interview for it. I knew at the time it was a joke, but some of the ideas they tossed out were actually sorta cool. Seems maybe Johns figured the same.
Anyway, what the hell, why not bring him back? Unique powerset, the costume redesign is great, and if they get away from those terrible stereotypes he could be pretty cool. I mean, DC made Plastic Man and Booster Gold cool. Vibe cant be much worse. I look forward to seeing how it gets handled. Though I hope they stay away from that god awful Spanglish stuff. Bad enough Blue Beetle has started talking like that. If that goes on much longer its going to become a permanent character trait. Vibe doesnt need that. Hell, Jamie didnt need that.
As for Donna and Wally....okay, Donna has been around forever, and a lot of people like her. But she's been a mess for thirty years and without a major overhaul she does not add much to the DC tapestry. Wally is better. He had twenty five years to develop as his own character and is the only Titan to truly take over his mentor's mantle. But again, without a major overhaul he ends up being another Flash. And while plenty of Wally fans (myself included) are fine with that....really, he should have his own niche to fill now that Barry is back. But doing that would end up screwing with his established image and role. I'd rather see DC wait a while, and bring both Donna and Wally into the fold when it matters, and after they have worked out a way to use them both in unique ways without destroying what made them popular in the first place.
Donna Troy honestly isn't that beloved a character though other than really old Teen Titans fan. Wasn't she created by accident because DC editors did a poor job of communicating with each other and once the damage was done they just tried to make her work? It's not a situation like Wally West where he was created and organically assumed the role of The Flash was the definitive version of the character for 20+ years. Honestly I was into DC comics since the early 90s and I never even heard of her until Infinite Crisis came out and they made a somewhat big deal that she was coming back.
Vibe makes sense because this is an alternate timeline which gives them an opportunity to try a fresh take on the character. Plus he's a latino character and i'd rather they revive an original character rather than just kill somebody off to have a minority legacy character that they can throw in the news as a statement that DC is diverse (Im looking at you jaime reyes)

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

I take it you missed this one?
But, seriously people, I hope that was only a rough-draft working name, not a final planned code-name for her.
With a lame, generic name like Klepto, every cop would think that she was a super-shoplifter!
(And Rogue of the X-Men would probably be pissed off as hell!)
I liked her from the flashpoint mini.
Anyway I hope walley and donna show up as supervillians.

Not saying should be either/or but if given the choice, I'd rather have Vibe over Donna and Wally. Donna especially unless they do give her an uncomplicated origin of some type. Not to say I dislike Donna but of the times I looked in on DC while I wasn't reading I saw her on the Outsiders (I think), a Darkstar (whatever that is), leading the Justice League (that was bad btw) and playing Wonder Woman. Seems to me there's a definite problem with the character working for some reason. I think if the Wonder Woman connection is that problematic then get rid of it. And the reboot allows that. Right after they reintroduce Vibe... along with his solo![]()
I think it would be cool to have all three--Vibe, Donna, and Wally. I liked Donna back in the NTT days and thought it was a shame that her origin became such a mess. There are a lot of great legacy characters who have yet to be reintroduced. I realize the legacies aren't favorites of editorial, but there's a way to make them work. If they can resurrect Vibe, why not give Donna a straightforward origin?
