One of the first casualties are the flying graysons, which prompts their 17 year old son, Dick grayson, to seek revenge. Meanwhile, Batman interupts a duo of assasins, a man and young woman. The man holds batman off while the woman completes the hit, but becomes immobolised afterwords. The Man abandons her. Batman comes up to the woman and sees that she is trembling and tearful. The two quickly develope a bond, as Bruce is very Paternal and treats Cass far better than her real father. Later in the week, Batman Encounters Dick Grayson beating up some gangsters, but intervenes to prevent them from being irreparably harmed. They get into a shouting match, which ends with Bruce saying that he thinks Grayson has potential, so he offers him an aprenticeship. finally, later in th week, Baman is confronted in the bat cave by a 15 year old Tim Drake, who found out who bats was via matching his voice and body shape to Wayne's, coupled with the logic that bruce was the only one who could afford all those wonderful toys. After that, he broke into Wayne manner and from there the batcave. Having no choice, Bats adds him to the aprentice list too.

After 6 months of training, The three aprentices make a decision amongst themselves: They mut go out into the streets, as the LEague of assasins has been running bruce ragged. Tim gives the three their code names: Batgirl, Nightwing, and Robin

Man Of Steel 2: The Death of Superman: A Monster known as Doomsday crashes to earth and battles the Man of Steel in the streets of Metropolis. They end up killing eachother. As the world deals with the loss of superman, three new supermen like heroes appear. They are Icon, Captin Marvel, Apollo, and a young kryptonian going by the name Match. Eventually, Match's condition deteriorates as he ages, becoming an even stronger, but insane, creature called Bizarro. He is, in actually, a clone, and when he discovers this, the last vestiges of his sanity disappear, and his goes on a rampage. Captain Marvel and Apollo confront him, While Icon is called away for something he considers more important. Appolo and Marvel are unable to defeats the eratic clone. However, the tide changes when Icon arrives..with superman. He used an alien healing device to revive Superman to full health, but it's taken a year. Togethor, the four defeat Bizarro

Already covered this in a different thread, but here it is again.

    Doom Patrol

I feel like the nature of the character's powers would require a substantial budget to pull off. Film would be a little darker than most super-flicks, and have more of an adult tone.

The first movie would open with Cliff Steele's accident, and the movie would use Robotman as the audience's vehicle into the already existing, though small, Doom Patrol. Robotman would be the most relatable and human character in the movie, and the Chief, the only normal human being in the group, would be the most robotic and inhuman in nature. I would use this difference to create tension in within the team. The outward tension would be with The Brain, once a former colleague of the Chief who blames him for the loss of his body. This wouldn't be about stopping a villain from achieving a goal, this would be a conflict where the team itself was the target of destruction.

    Characters would be:

    Robotman
    Elasti-Girl
    Negative Man
    Chief

    Villain:
    The Brain w/ Mallah

At the end of the movie, something would happen to cause the Negative Man's energy being to become unstable, and Cliff's mind would experience a mental breakdown as he continues to try and come to terms with his new reality.

    Doom Patrol 2

This would introduce Crazy Jane, and would see Negative Man transformed into Rebis. Cliff is once again the central character, as his mental state improves enough to return to Doom Patrol HQ, once again acting as the audience's vehicle within the films insane tapestries.

The villains would be the Brotherhood of DaDa, lead by Mr. Nobody, who are attempting to destroy the order of everything in subtle ways. This time, the movie would end in a way that a sequel wouldn't be obvious.
Writers: Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis, Jeff Lemire

Artists: John Cassaday, Frank Quitely, Mike Mignola

Here's my idea for a Batman movie reboot, which I'd mentioned earlier-

    BATMAN: DARK VICTORY

This film is inspired by both Steve Englehart's 'Strange Apparitions' run, and the various Robin origin stories, most notably 'Dark Victory'.

At the start of the film, Batman has already been active for around five years and is well-established as Gotham's resident crime-fighter. He's already taken down Gotham's underworld, and has defeated virtually all the costumed villains and psychopaths, who are incarcerated in Arkham. For the first time in decades Gotham seems completely peaceful and it looks like Batman, with help from the new honest GCPD under Commissioner Gordon, has completed his mission of cleaning up Gotham. Bruce even begins to contemplate retiring and settling down, partly because he starts to get involved with a woman named Silver St. Cloud, for whom he has developed genuine feelings.

It is at this point that we are introduced to Rupert Thorne, a prominent politician and member of Gotham's City Council who's secretly making a play to become Gotham's new Mob boss. While Thorne publicly runs a campaign against Batman and tries to apply pressure on Gordon and the GCPD to withdraw their tacit sanction of the vigilante, he's secretly rebuilding Gotham's underworld and rackets, under a veil of legitimacy and political maneuverings, with the help of his right-hand man Tony Zucco. Zucco starts a protection racket and seeks to extort money from Haly's Circus, but the owner refuses. 15 year old Dick Grayson observes Zucco threatening Haly.

Later, during the performance of the Flying Graysons, Bruce is present at the show since its a charity he's sponsored, along with Silver St. Cloud. The Flying Graysons plummet to their deaths owing to a tampered wire, though Dick survives and is consumed by grief and rage. Dick claims he has seen the person who threatened Haly, who is identified as Tony Zucco. Bruce is deeply disturbed by the Flying Grayson's deaths, as it reminds him of the murder of his parents, and offers to take Dick in. Dick moves into the Wayne Manor, but it still upset and curious as to why Bruce is never at home at night. He also finds the portrait of Thomas and Martha Wayne and realizes Bruce is an orphan too. Alfred assures him that Bruce understands his feelings all too well.

In the meantime, Thorne, in an attempt to distract Batman away from the Zucco investigation and his racketeering, has several villains released from Arkham and Blackgate; namely Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Deadshot, Solomon Grudny and the Joker, to wreck havoc across Gotham. Batman faces off against Ivy, Grudny and Scarecrow and swiftly defeats them, though crime rates begin to rise again while Batman is distracted by his costumed foes, and the GCPD is over-stretched because of the budgetary cuts made by Thorne.

Dick escapes from the Wayne Manor and manages to track down Zucco. He confronts Zucco and attacks him but Zucco's men over-power and nearly kill him. Providentially, Batman shows up and rescues Dick, but Zucco gets away. Batman takes Dick back to the cave and reveals his identity to him. He tells Dick the story of his parents death and how that motivated him to become Batman. Dick wants to help Batman bring down Zucco and Thorne, so Bruce agrees to train him, realizing that Dick has potential. So Dick begins his training under Bruce in the cave.

Later, Silver has started to get suspicious about Bruce given how many of their dates he's broken of recently and all the new bruises over him. At a charity event organized by her, Deadshot attacks. Batman fights off Deadshot, and in the process, Silver is able to deduce that Bruce is Batman. Bruce has no time to deal with this however, as Dick is ready by now and dons the costume of Robin. Batman and Robin manage to trick Zucco into a confession and get him arrested. They also manage to get evidence against Thorne. The Joker however has kidnapped Silver and Batman and Robin both work to rescue her and defeat Joker. Silver then reveals to Bruce that she knows who he is and that she cannot remain in a relationship with a man who's constantly at risk of dying, so they mutually agree to end their relationship.

In the end, Thorne is exposed and is arrested. Bruce agrees to let Dick remain his permanent partner, with Batman formally introducing Robin to Commissioner Gordon.

    WORLD'S FINEST

Batman and Superman find themselves embattled with the forces of Ra's Al Ghul: Clayface (who can perfectly mimic any physical shape or action he sees) and Parasite (absorbs powers and a smattering of memories), two creations born of experiments with the Lazarus Pit. Ra's intends to use these two to find and release thousands of chemical and biological weapons on the world's major powers. The emergence of an ancient Kryptonian weapons stash sets off the explosive chain of events.

    Summary:

Superman, in mourning for the recent death of his mother, finds her grave outside Smallville disturbed and engages Clayface in a brief struggle. The area is also home to Clark's buried spaceship, which is successfully stolen by Clayface's allies. Clayface escapes through the cave system in Smallville, but Clark catches one of the vans used by the bad guys.

Meanwhile, Batman, nursing an injured arm from a confrontation with some other rogue, is almost convinced by Alfred to take a vacation and recuperate. Alfred mentions a trip to Europe, the Himalayas, or the tropics. Bruce is almost convinced when his computer alerts him to something: a half obscured facial match in Munich, Germany. Bruce immediately decides on Europe, and Alfred mentions to young master Grayson that its someone who Bats feels he has "unresolved issues" with, and he will be going alone.

Clark finds tracking equipment that seeks Kryptonian energy and discovers discovers that Ra's' Lazarus Pits are based off ancient lines made from Kryptonian visitors from long ago. As Clark Kent, he hops a ride with Lois Lane on her date/interview with notorious playboy Bruce Wayne, who is undergoing a tour of Europe to investigate these findings. The first night in Paris, Clark, a little jealous of Bruce and Lois, leaves early to investigate an area in Paris's ancient sewers. Bruce, catching a glimpse of a shadowy figure, makes a pretext to get Lois away and follows the figure as Batman. In the sewers, Superman, being observed by Parasite accidentally activates an ancient Kryptonian message system that mentions a weapons cache stored on Earth after Krypton's first great war, courtesy of Clark's ancestor Kem-El.

The language is Kryptonese, but the brief hologram images make it clear what the area stores. Superman's hearing alerts him to a heartbeat. Superman whooshes in front of an unperturbed Batman, and a little bit of tension is resolved when Batman reveals he followed someone else in. Superman hears nothing, and both are suddenly set upon by parasite. Initially no match for either hero, Parasite absorbs some of both Bruce and Clark's powers and knowledge. The ensuing struggle ends when Parasite levels the cave in an attempt to distract Superman. Superman emerges from the rubble and looks for Batman, finds him, but finds he is also wearing a lead lined mask. Superman tells Batman to stay out of this big league stuff, and Batman tells Superman to mind his own business.

Parasite reports to a shadowy Ra's Al Ghul that Superman's knowledge included some translation of the message's meaning, as well as mentioning the Great Detective has already deduced Superman's identity. Ra's has Parasite attempt to translate Clayface's loot, but reacts with annoyance when he finds out Parasite mentions Batman. Parasite asks if Ra's will tell "her" about it. Ra's rebukes him for asking such questions and informs him its his curiosity and ambition that keep him from ranking as high as Clayface. He then contacts Clayface and Talia Al Ghul and informs her to take care of the problem.

Lois, meanwhile continues to grow attracted to Bruce, much to Clark's consternation. A brief, private exchange between the two men has them both deduce each other's identities, Clark ask Bruce why he's chasing such big game, and Bruce confides he knows Parasite's keeper, but is mum on other details; he also warns Superman to be weary of Al Ghul, who has killed men of all shapes and sizes through out history, and may just be cunning enough to kill Superman himself. At their next stop in Berlin, Bruce is shocked to be immediately greeted by Talia, who invites him to a dinner date. Meanwhile, Clayface masquerades as Bruce to ask Lois out on an entirely different date. Clark, going to ask Bruce what the heck is going on, is ambushed by Parasite, who drains him almost to the point of death. The weakened Clark is then placed at a high table over seeing the dance floor, next to a fit man who introduces himself as the so-called "Head of the Demon" -Ra's Al Ghul.

Ra's notes that Parasite's victims regain their abilities slowly, but mentions he's taken extra precaution, as Lois Lane is now dancing with Clayface, who can kill her in a matter of seconds. He offers Superman a place at the table in a new world, informing him he doesn't want to kill everyone, just all the bad eggs. There is a lot of those bad eggs, apparently. He also offers to resurrect Mrs. Kent. Clark informs Ra's he is gravely mistaken, so Ra's orders Clayface to take Lois away. Hilariously, Lois, realizing the suspicious actions of her date don't match his earlier suspicious actions, arranges for Clayface to be stunned by electricity.

Talia and Bruce have a very tense, even uncomfortable yet electric, dance and date. Bruce initially grills her on her father's plans while she deconstructs his moral code and methods. Things start to get personal when Talia reveals that every other dancer on the floor is an agent of her father's. But while we know her father ordered Bruce killed, she commands her men to capture him instead, and slips him a small dagger. Bruce successfully holds off most of his attackers, but is overwhelmed by reinforcements when Lois pushes the still disguised Clayface into the room. The little bit of confusion allows Batman to escape and find Lois. Together they search for Clark.

Ra's, about to lift off with the subdued Kryptonian, is accosted by the now fully armored Batman. He calls in Parasite, who easily begins to kick Batman around the room, until Clark, desperately fighting back in the helicopter and regaining his strenth (marked by Parasite's decreasing powers) crashes Ra's helicopter into Parasite and triggers an explosion with his returning heat vision. Ra's still escapes now fully aware of the cache's location in the Ural Mountains, and accompanied by Parasite and Clayface.

Batman and Superman talk to each other, revealing their mutual problems-Superman is worried about his planet's legacy safe, Batman is worried about what will happen to his "ex-wife"; Talia and he were kind of sorta married before he trained under her father, and the rift left both feeling a little raw. They agree to double team Ra's after Batman reconfigures one of Wayne Enterprises new Solar power plants to refeed Superman energy.

Long story short, a melee between all five characters ensues. Ra's tricks Superman for a short time with Clayface disguised as Parasite so Superman will focus on him and so Parasite can get a quick bite from behind to gun after Batman. Batman then neutralizes Parasite with a neural disease he gave Superman that a Kryptonian would be immune to. Batman then engages in a mirror fight with Clayface while Ra's, now armed with Kryptonian weaponry, holds off Superman as he releases Krypton's old war machine on the planet. Superman defeats Ra's and successfully gets the cache powered down. Clayface is quickly subdued by the duo, but Ra's reveals his final trump card: a Kryptonite powered nuclear weapon. But Ra's is shot from behind by Talia, who feels he'll be better after a dip in the Lazarus Pit, and she forces Superman with the bomb to take Bruce out as she pilots the cache into the upper atmosphere, where the bomb finally blows up.

At the end, Bruce feels content that Talia probably found some way to survive, Lois reveals she knows he's Batman and won't date him, and Bruce wonders how Clark hides his secret from her. The two shake hands and promise to watch each others backs. Superman also gives Batman a small container with Kryptonite, just in case.

    coming up next:

Yes, I do. If you look at my complaints about the GL movie in other threads, you see that I most address the script and the editing; the production was actually, IMHO, filled with talented and competent people. Even Reynolds. Whatever problems it had, it was not lack of talent of the people involved.

However, my point here was about "legacy" or "passing the mantle" being too complicated for the general audiences. I disagree. It`s a simple and common known concept, almost a cliché; audiences understand (and can relate to it) just fine.

I'd go with the Doom Patrol as well- but in a different direction. IF this is a bit rambling, realize it's unpolished and largely off the top of my head. I'm sure if DC went anywhere near this direction they would do a much better job.

The movie starts with Larry Trainor's plane crashing during a freak lightning storm. He wakes up in the hospital bandaged head to toe. He's told he has massive burns and is lucky to be alive. No one seems to be able to tell him just how he wound up here.

The TV in the background is showing an entertainment report about actress Rita Farr who has been fired from yet another job. It is speculated Farr is an addict of some kind and how the odds of her getting another job are low.

Cut to a few weeks later where Larry is being discharged. Still covered in bandages, Trainor is told that his stay was covered but only through today. In the lobby. news coverage of NASCAR driver Cliff Steele's accident several months back, with reporters wondering just why the driver has been so reclusive since then.

Voice over: Not all heroes wear flashy costumes. We aren't all photogenic. Hell, most of us aren't even here by choice. Some are blessed by power.... others are doomed by it The Doom Patrol

Larry is unable to resume his career as a pilot because of two problems. First the cockpit instruments go a bit wonky when he is near. Second he seems to have developed narcolepsy- in that he faints at inexplicable times. KIds on the street call him "Mr Mummy". He is sitting in his living room watching a fuzzy TV contemplating suicide when the phone rings. The voice on the other end of the phone (same voice from the opening credits) offers Larry help if he comes to a specific the next day.

We see Larry dressed in a jacket and hood arrive the next day. Also there are a large man dressed in an overcoat siting in the shadows. And a person with distorted limbs wearing a hat with a veil. Our friendly narrator explains that he called them each here for the same reason. Each of them was dealt a bad hand by fate. He tried to help each of them as best he could. He gave them back a life, but not a purpose. Now he planned to give them that as well.

The voice explains that he treated Ms Farr (the mishapen woman) for a rare tropical illness she contracted while filming a movie in a remote jungle. Unfortunately he was unable to anticipate the effect the cure would have on her. As he is speaking we see Rita start to tense until she bolts up as he finishes his speech and we see her body stretch to an additional 2-3 feet in height. At this the guy in the overcoat falls backward and we see the chiar break. Two metalic arms and legs are revealed as he tries to right himself. The voice moves on to explain how he gave Cliff Steele (he laughs after the name) a new body to replace the one no medical science could fix after the accident.

Larry asks what all this has to do with him. He might be disfigures by burns, but he's no worse off that a guy who was caught in any other fire. The voice laughs again explaining that by now odds are that Larry's skin is healed of any damage and asks if Larry wasn't curious that he never felt any pain from the supposed burns. Or if he wondered why he was asked never to change the bandages himself? As he speaks the light in the room has been slowly dimming and we see for the first time that Larry's bandages are glowing. At this point we see Larry's body fall to the floor as a glowing version of him remains standing there.

As the voice continues to speak it switches from being broadcast over speakers to a man in a wheelchair who glides into the room. He introduces himself as Dr Niles Caulder. He just wants to help them recover normal lives and wishes he had been able to return to each of them sooner. He asks them if they are willing to work with him now.

From here we follow a bit of training for each of them.

Rita is shown learning to take control of the way her size shifts. A scene where she is startled produces a size change and we see her slow it and reverse it. As she appears in her own scenes and in the back ground of the other's training scenes she is returning slowly to a more normal appearance.

Cliff is shown both relearning some manual dexterity as well as exploring a wider range of senses. We also see Caulder working on some artificial skin and a face mask that resembles Cliff pre-accident.

Larry is shown releasing his energy form as his body drops unconscious. There are also a few early scenes where we see Larry accidently short out Cliff's arm or such. We also see the artifica skin for Cliff tends to whither when exposed to Larry for any length of time.

By the end of these scenes the characters are interacting more during theit training and we see a bit of freindship forming.

We then get a scene of the three out for a walk. Cliff is wearing the artificial skin and looks "normal". Rita is again a gorgeous woman. Even Larry despite the bandages seems relaxed, though he is keeping his face obscured in some way and wearing gloves. They happen upon a gang harassing another group of kids (maybe a couple or a family). Cliff tries to break it up only to have his pseudo-flesh cut. It degenrates into a small battle which of course the heroes win. Between the attacks and Larry's energy form Cliff's robotic form is exposed as the artificial skin is shredded or melts away, but all three return home feeling good about themselves.

The news reports the next day are mixed. Some hail the trio as heroes. Others play up the monstrous and destrctive nature. Caulder is angry- but it is unclear if it is at the team for revealing themselves or at some of the more outrageous news coverage. The team is starting to regress- Larry shorts out the TV, Cliff shatters a glass in his grip and Rita is visibly shrinking as the scene progresses.

At this point we get a news story about a group of armed gunmen taking hostages. Our team rises to the occasion leading to a finale that parallels the end of the Silver Age team. They free the hostages. Defeat the bad guys (who are taken out of the building). But there is a bomb left in the building. Heroes try and fail to deactivate bomb.

The End? (That depends on the studios desire for a sequel).

I came up with an idea for a Batman reboot as well. Its loosely based on Steve Englehart's 'Strange Apparitions' run and 'Dark Victory', and deals with both Dick's origin as Robin and Batman's war against Rupert Thorne.
Thanks a lot! And you're right, it would work better with Robin already established.

FP, bro, with all due respect, why dont you give us some of your ideas instead of being the teacher who corrects people's essays?

Frankly, i'd rather read movie pitches (which is the purpose of this thread) than your opinion on which villain should be used first for commecial success and all that.

The longer I think about it, the more I think the best way for DC to start building a shared movie universe would be to make a movie first centered around the Martian Manhunter -- the character who will eventually be the steady presence inside The Justice League. Also a character who creators can use to look at humanity from the outside, so to speak.

I've always had ideas for a Lobo movie that I think would work well on screen.

Basically, it would be a "deal with the devil" type of story.

The feel and look of the movie would be a blend of Star Wars (think of the bounty hunter/smugglers bar, or Jabba the Hutt's lair) only more darker, sleazier and dangerous.

Vril Dox and the rest of LEGION (set up as the galaxies primary police force) are forced to seek outside help in looking for an alien child that holds the cure for a "plague" that will "infect" every life from in the galaxy.

The child has been abducted by an army of religious zealots led by the monstrous Despero (a tyrannical leader who wants the power of the "plague" for himself. Have him exactly as he is in the comics, albeit a little less pink).

Every bounty hunter/mercenary that has been approached doesn't want the job. Dox gets word of a bounty hunter that specializes in work that noone else wants (or can handle)........Lobo.

Everyone he's spoken too tells him the same thing- Lobo is the meanest, nastiest and deadliest bounty hunter in the universe and that he's more trouble than he's worth.

    The all important introduction scene-

Dingy, run down intergalactic "biker" bar. All sorts of scary looking aliens reside in it's darkly lit corners, with all sorts of alien entertainment goes on around Dox as he enters the bar.

Dox see's Lobo sittting at the bar. Everyone else is sitting as far away from him as they can, all eyes on Dox as hesitantly heads over to Lobo. Only one alien drunk is sitting next to Lobo, passed out and drooling on the bar.

Dox asks Lobo for a moment of his time. Lobo raises his head from his glass, but is otherwise non-responsive. Dox continues....

"Lobo, my name is Vril Dox, and I have a job for you. LEGION has need of your bounty hunting servi....."

*SQUISH!!* goes the drunks head as Lobo slams his fist down on the alien sitting next to him.

"I'm sorry. Did I just break your concentration?"

(This scene is in a comic featuring The Ray, and I thought it's the perfect way to introduce Lobo and showcase his absolute unflinching ability to kill on a whim, and the utter disregard for life he has, not to mention shake Vril Dox up a bit, letting him know what he's about to get into.)

After a tense confrontation in the bar, Lobo accepts the mission. (Dox telling Lobo noone else wants it is the selling point, as Lobo has an ego and rep to uphold).

As they are prepared to leave, a group of hard-ass alien bikers/mercenaries walk in and recognise Lobo as the one who killed their leader in a barfight the week before. Lobo says he killed dozens of losers last week, and for them to be a bit more specific.

    They draw their weapons.

"You may wanna get under a table, Frilly Dicks." Lobo says smugly.

Choas ensues. Lobo kills everyone in the bar.

Dox comes out from under the table to witness the carnage, trying to fully comprehend what the hell he's getting himself, LEGION and the galaxy into.

Now we get the introduction to the rest of LEGION.

They are horrified at Lobo's personality and vulgarity, and disgusted they have work with someone like him.

He's certainly living up his reputation.

Next they go to Lobo's base, which is literally a shack/garage sitting on an asteroid.

We see his massive arsenal of weapons, his awesome looking Space Hog, his mechanic/weapons-smith/sidekick/partner-in-crime Jonas Glim, and we also get an encounter with Lobo's herd of space dolphins.

The dolphins give off a harmonic/entrancing song that seems to have a almost blissful, calming effect on Lobo. It's almost like a drug to Lobo, who would never admit it, but he actually loves these dolphins as his pets/companions.

The next phase of the movie is explaining the story of the alien child and the prophecy stating the child's importance and what the "plague" actually is.

This is also where Lobo reveals his expertise with "plagues", having engineered one himself whe he was a teen which killed his whole planet. It was a school project that he gave himself an "A" for.

Mortified, LEGION decide Lobo's too much of a threat, and sneakily teleport him and his bike to a planet Despero and his crew have just left. LEGION think they have rid themselves of Lobo and decide to try and bring in Despero aand the child themselves.

Lobo, having the feeling he's been betrayed, promises to rectify LEGION's betrayal later, but first things first, he's given his word to bring in Despero and the child, and Lobo always keeps his word.

Lobo is then seen performing a series of brutal torture/interogation scenes on alien mercenaries, some humorous, some plain nasty. They all tell him the same thing....Despero has fled the planet.

Tracking his scent, Lobo takes off into space at full speed on his Hog, tearing through the cosmos at light speed. (Think Wolverine on Cyclops' bike in the X-Men movie, only at lightspeed.)

He reaches a massive starship, which is Despero's headquarters. He fights his way onboard, slaying many soldiers and mercenaries as he breaches the command deck.

Despero asks Lobo who he is and what does he want, to which Lobo shoots him in the chest. Despero is completely unharmed, and with a flicker of his 3rd eye, holds Lobo suspended in the air via telekinesis.

With Lobo susspended in the air, Despero begins to fill Lobo in on the real threat of the plague. It is a soul stealing entity that is using the child's body as a host. The child is in a catatonic state, it's mind paralyzed by the entity's immense force and power.
If the child were to die, the "Soul Plague" would spread throughout the universe and consume every living soul, creating a universe full of soul-less zombies, while empowering the host body with absolute control of every "infected" soul in the universe.

Lobo seems unfazed, bored even. He's here for one reason, and that's to bring in Despero and the child. He doesn't care what's it over.

As Despero monologues, he stands before a buffet of alien foods and picks at various delicacies.

Lobo see's a familar item on the menu. A half-eaten, freshly cooked Space Dolphin.

Lobo instantly goes insane with bloodlust. He busts out of Despero's TK and attacks. His hook and chain in hand, he goes ballistic, punching , slashing, kicking and even biting Despero in an attempt to hurt him.

After taking everything Lobo has, Despero opens his 3rd eye once more and blasts Lobo clear out the side of the ship's hull, leaving him to float in space unconscious.

(Despero's 3rd eye gives him telepathy, TK, and cosmic energy blasts, while physically he's massive, 10ft tall, and has superstrength and nigh-invulnerability)

Lobo is blasted out of the ship and left in the void of space, unconsious for the time being. He comes to and realizes he's starnded in a void, with no planets in sight. He whistles for his bike, and it comes to "life" and bursts out of Despero's ship and comes back for Lobo.

Despero's ship enters warp-space and vanishes.
