Marvel version of Talon

So I was going through some old back issues for Free Comic Day at my local shop and stopped immediately when I saw the cover of Squadron Supreme # 6, a Marvel series, with a Talon looking guy throwing knives. After looking into it, I find out it's that world's Nighthawk. But everything about it looks way too similar to the Talons in Batman. The glowing yellow eyes, all black with feather-like chest armor, the blades....it's nuts. I was wondering what others think of this. I'm wondering if it influenced the design of the Talons, if they gave credit to it for the design, etc. Here's a couple reference pics, but you can see a lot more by searching it.

While the similarities are there and Im sure Nighthawk has been around longer than the current version of Talons. However Batman came before this. All superheroes are a plagerize of the original Superman.

There are really only so many ways to do bird-themed characters and not have them look goofy.

Marvel's first Nighthawk actually dates back to 1969.

That version of Nighthawk came out like 8 years ago, long before this Court Of Owls series began.

Talons are rip offs of The Hand ninjas with touches of Max Comics Nighthawk and DC's own Earth 2 Owlman.
