Whether you call her Fongji or Fungi, she's still way more offensive than any other character in Marvel or DC for that matter. It's not because of how she looks. It's that she's a character that's been pulled out of thin air and contrived to be yet another Jean Grey look-alike with the Phoenix Force. It's bad enough Marvel did the same with Hope Summers five years ago. At least Hope's story was worked into the events of Messiah Complex. Fongji is just a lousy retcon and another blatant excuse for Marvel to utilize Phoenix imagery without using Jean Grey.

You're just assuming she looks like Jean. The fact is that when Marvel produces any character with red hair, it seems to send her hard-core fans into paroxysmal fits of rage and blind frothing, claiming how they're just Jean clones; enough so that the writers and artists end up putting jokes about it into the comics.

You've become sad, sad parodies of yourselves, and I for one am not sure if I should feel pity or mirth.
