OOC: Well, Marko's too young to be a full-fledged enforcer (under normal conditions), but Sloane thinks that he got in early by nepotism.

She was slightly surprised to see the girl walk away, but quickly realizes that she shouldn't have been. Rivia knew she had to make a choice, allow her fears and prejudices to turn this experience into an even worse hell than she expected, or at least try to make some friends and maybe it would become more tolerable.

As she looked around, Rivia did some quick math in her head. Counting the number of people here, then using it as an estimate of the average number of 'students' every three years, in each of the Academies, then estimating it over time, the number she arrived at was far greater than the number of recorded Elemanti/Enhanced people in the population. A number she happened to come across in a databook her father used at his work.

Deep in thought, she realized that it could be one of five possibilities.
-First possibility, the number of Elemanti/Enhancers in the population is growing every generation.
-Second, The total number of Elemenati/Enhancers is under-counted for some reason, either many of them die young or their existence is kept secret or something else happens to them.
-Third, many more Elemanti/Enhancers exist out there but the government is unaware of them fro some reason.
-Fourth, this generation is a fluke, a rare outbreak of an unusually high number of people with significant enough powers to warrant being sent here.
-Fifth, the other Academies are under-utilized with far smaller student populations. The fifth possibility defies what she knows, that the assignment of students is usually equal in each school. Still, without more data it will be hard for her to be certain.

Of all the possibilities, the one that has her most concerned is the First One.

"The Scoop, huh?" Boss asked, removing his hand quickly from his machine as sparks began to shoot out of its wiring. "Heard it be rough growing up there. With murder, the thieving, the extortion..."

Elizabeth leans against a wall, a cigarette in her mouth. "So, when are we getting started?"

"Yep, we also have roaches the size of cats as well. Among other things." :The roach thing was a joke, of course.:

"Mah gran'pa an' great gran'pa weren't no cops, and mah mom is a 'good guy' who got where she is 'spite that." Selma said, not liking the way Sloane was talking.

"Besides," Eisen said, "as pets go, I was much more of a guinea pig then a cat."

She gave Kyra an expectant look. "How was that? Was that a joke? I tried to make a play on words, you see, based on the fact that I was raised by a scientist." She frowned slightly. "Um, I would mimick the sound of a guinea pig, but I'm arfraid I don't know the appropriate onomatopoeia."

Guinea Pig? Wait, guinea pigs...scientists...what the hell? That bastard was experimenting on his own niece?

Then Eisen clarified, and Kyra felt her widening eyes go back to normal. She gave an amused hmph.

"You had me there for a moment. Little girl kept indoors all her life, a guinea pig for her scientist uncle? It was like bad porn. Shocking at first, but," she nodded sideways, "kinda funny."

Eisen seemed to relax somewhat. She smiled at Kyra. "...I guess you're right. Thank you."

Kyra beamed. She was off to a good start too, as far being friends with Eisen went.

"Bouncing to new guardians sounds rough," Kyra frowned, then turned to the campus, "did you do any research about your new school?"

He smirked before replying in an amused tone. "Not really. I was only told that it would be Arcadia at the last minute."

[Chrosis]

Sloane broke the silence.

"Sector 13 twisted us, just like a lot of people. You've seen it, too."

Cammy was suddenly a lot less comfortable with her company. She'd never been 13 or the Scoop, but she'd heard stories. Were they dangerous? It was mandatory anyone with powers entered an academy, so there was no telling what kind of people she was here with. And then there were the ones from Sector 1 who were just... better. Was there anyone where that she could talk to?

Well, at least she had found a friend in Skye.

"I couldn't-" Sloane clenched his teeth. He couldn't keep on talking about his past. "McCool, being a better person would have destroyed me. For all of the mistakes I made, that wasn't one of them. Unless you think choosing to live is wrong, that is."
