Marko was surprised with just how much everyone seemed willing to reveal about themselves. Even for someone a straight forward as him, he didn't really feel the need to describe every single detail of his life's story to people he just met. That could be dangerous, in the wrong hands.

While he felt ashamed to admit it, he did take note of a few details here and there that he should have probably forgotten. I can't help it, Dad always said to take a note of everything, comes from being a cop I suppose.

"If that attitude make you happy, I won't try to change your mind. I do wish there would have been a life after death, though I personally doubt there is."

"There is," Marko declared suddenly, with surprising conviction, "There has to be."

His second guardian would have been shamed. She'd worked so hard to make him be polite.

"Actually, they're looking into stopping the aging process via genetic engineering and modifying. In time, barring accident or violence, we may eliminate all known disease as well. Thus leading to a life span of possibly aeons," Vi said. "Sorry to interrupt, but it's a fascinating area to me."

I will at times make reference to certain popular music that exists in modern times. As of now, I am unsure if this actually exists in Eden the same why Selma exists in both SHR 2007 and SHR3 3353, or if it is merely referencing a similar work that exists in Eden. This is done to make things easier for all involved, and I will stop doing so if anyone objects.

Norma chuckled. "Any requests darling?"

IC: Samantha stops and thinks for a moment.

"Do you know 'Hero/Heroine' by 'Boys Like Girls'?"

"Good point. Be back... hmm... right over there." Moira said, pointing to the pillar Keldian and Selma were sitting at. A moment later she walked out from behind it, holding a cookie jar full of fresh-baked cookies.

"It seems my stove was on. Had chocolate-chip oatmeal cookies baking." Moira said, reaching into the jar and pulling one out. Taking a bite, she "mmm"ed appreciatively as she asked "Still warm and gooey. So good."

"Anyone else want a cookie while they're fresh?" Moira asked, holding out the jar as she offered.

"I'm not sure what you're doing," Marko said suspiciously as he saw Moira appearify cookies from nowhere, "But there has to be a law against it."

"Sorry, I'm not allowed," Vi said. "No sweets."

He'd looked around for a bit. A lot of the others seemed quite talkative...and quite a number were not likeable people.

It was interesting that one of the few that he found remotely approachable was talking to Eisen. Perhaps the girl was faster than him at finding people that she could stand.

Then she bowed, "Kyra Ogawa, pleased to meet you. And you are?"

"It's certainly possible, I don't know much about that branch of the business. Have you ever heard him mention Baad Industries or any other company he might work for?" Vivian asked.

Eisen searched her memory. "Um, I believe he once refered to you as 'a flock of fat, flightless vultures in expensive suits'." She gave Vivian an apologetic smile. "That doesn't necessarily have to mean he's actually done business with you, though."

"Well it wasn't about fun, it was about teaching me responsibility," Vi said. "I worked for an allowance, and had to decide the best way to spend it. I also had to give a little bit to a charity of my choice. I had to learn banking, and all about credit and debit, and good fiscal sense. If I'm going to run a company some day, I'll have a lot of people depending on me to make the right decisions."

"I'm sure you will," Eisen said. "It definitely sounds like they did a good job instructing you."

"Nah," Kyra replied, waving a hand. She went up beside Eisen, so they were both facing the same direction, and put her fingers together in the classic imaginary photo borders sign.

"New social skill number 1: teasing. People sometimes frame situations a little differently from what they are, for everyone's amusement. If the other person catches on and is in the mood, he or she could carry the joke further. For example, after I compared you to a house cat...you could purr, or meow."

"Oh, you mean a joke?" Eisen said. "I've heard about that, but I've never tried it myself."

"Would living forever count?"

Eisen shrugged. "My uncle certainaly seems to think so."

"A pleasure as well." Curiosity came forth. "How did you two meet, by the way?"

Richard hmmed as he rolled his head back, looking to the sky as if the answer were written in the clouds, "It was some four days ago when we were having lunch at the cantinas down by the Sector 8 expressways. This guy here said he was moving to a new neighborhood but I can't say I expected this to be what he meant."

"It's been attempted before. Probably for over a thousand years. Even if we didn't age anymore, it still wouldn't give us forever."

"I apologize for the intrusion. My name is Lucic Erund Etem Quin, please call me Luc if you find it easier."

"Your uncle is a fascinating man," Kyra conceded, "but I'm interested in the opinion of the girl in front of me. What do you think?"
