"Uhhh..."
She wasn't quite sure what to say. A moment passed before she looked to the side and began to talk to seemingly no one.
"Yes, I was planning to thank her."
"No, you're causing a scene!"
Returning to her feet, the girl nodded in thanks to Samantha before she introduced herself. "Thank you. I'm Rosemary."

Interesting way to reach the Academy Casimir thought to himself after the somewhat tiring hike up here. Looking around he noticed several of the other students showing signs of exhaustion, and smiled to himself. At least I'm not the only one. Then he noticed the Academy itself. It was quite large, and looked more like a city than an Academy. "I think our time here is going to be interesting..." He muttered to no on in particular.
He saw this and made a move to catch her but was beaten to it by Samantha. He walked up to the two of them however and smiled lightly, "It was a rough hike, wasn't it? Name is Casimir, nice to meet the both of you."
Hearing this he laughs shortly and shakes his head in annoyance at the outburst, "Battle Monkeys? Not if I have anything to say about it."
Vivian found a nice, soft place to sit. The walk had left her feeling weak, but her heart was fine for now. She looked about, trying to figure out the nature of her future classmates.
A lot of people get sentience confused for sapience. Your hamster is sentient, you are sapient. Intelligence is sapience.
A lone blond girl in blue and red outfit ran up the great stairs leading to the Arcadia Academy, keeping a brisk pace without showing sign of tiring from the monumental achievement. She clutched an odd doll in her arms and bore a frown on her face, for due to circumstances beyond her control, she was now running a serious risk of being tardy.
I'm going to be late! she thought. It's my first day and I'm definitely gojng to be late! Oh, what will I do?
"Don't worry, I doubt you'll get in much trouble because you arrived a few minutes later then the others. Relax, I bet this will be fun."
That's easy for you to say!
Finally reaching the top of the stairs, the girl ran over to the group of new recruits. Without even stopping to catch her breath, she held up her acceptance letter and announced in a loud voice: "C-Cadet Schneider reporting for duty! Please excuse me for being late!"

Samantha nods. "Nice to meet you." She pauses and thinks for a few seconds, feeling a bit awkward.
"Needlessly so." Samantha answers. "Not everyone has stamina. It is..." She considers her words. "Wasteful. It is like Arcadia has something to prove."
"Or perhaps we do." He offers.
"Well, it really depends on how far you plan on hiking, I guess. I've been on some nice hikes that weren't nearly as long as this one." He smiled.
Chuckling a bit at this he responds, "At ease, Cadet. Last I checked this wasn't the military, it's alright to take it easy." He then smiles at her.
Robert Dalts was generally an energic young man.
Robert Dalts was currently falling asleep on his feet.
The long walk wasn't the main reason for his current state, though that had certainly helped. No, the real reason behind his tiredness was to be found the night before. It had all started when a loud shout broke the silence of an old park in Sector 5.
"You didn't think you were going to get away that easily, did you?" Thomas Walker said with his arms crossed and a smug smirk on his face as he looked at the confused Robert Dalts. He was happy and with good reason. The F class enhancer had been lived his life as he pleased... at least until he met Robert Dalts. Humiliation after humiliation had become the hallmarks of his life after that meeting.
That ended tonight! In a way, he was glad Dalts was leaving to Arcadia. He would have never gathered the courage to do this otherwise. Yes, tonight life changed for him. Tonight, he defeated Dalts and forever cleaned his-
"So... is this a goodbye party or something?" Robert asked, looking around.
Walker's eyebrow twitched. Several times.
"No!" The F class enhancer fought the urge to pull his hair.
"How on earth do you see this!" Walker spread his arm pointing to the group of four dozen people behind him. Some of them carried knives, small hammers, and lead pipes. Two of them were even F class enhancers like Walker. "And think this is a party?"
Nothing annoyed Walker more than the fact Robert seemed to actually be considering the question seriously.
"It is one of those weird Scottish parties in the history books where people throw hammers at each other?"
"No."
"No?"
"No!"
"This is about that time I beat you up for being a jerk, isn't?" Robert asked. "Look, not that putting up with someone's bullshit isn't, like, the definition of friendship, 'cause it kind of is-
"We. Are Not. Friends!"
"-but you were being a ass, a bigger ass than normal I mean... kind of like now actually."
"You!" Walker said. His face had turned a nice shed of purple. "You. Us. We fight!"
Robert sighed. "Okay. Fine. I get it. I obviously didn't make myself clear enough last time."
The young elemancer fixed his gaze on the group. "If you lot want to jump in, that's fine. This doesn't really concern you, but it's cool, really. Attack me to you want. I won't be dodge. I will understand you. Promise. But..."
Earth rose from the ground and flowed towards Robert's arms. The elemancer cracked his knuckles are they were covered in earth, forming a thin pair of gauntlets.
"If you jump in, don't kid yourself," he said, grinning from ear to ear. "After you're done, I will make myself understood."
It had been a long night.

Marko had been lost in thought, and just noticed the new girl.
What is that little girl doing here? Perhaps she is one of the instructors daughters.
He walked over to her and bent down closer to her level, "Excuse me miss, but are you lost?" he asked the little girl, "If you like I could help you find your parents."
"Really?" asked the small blond girl. "Why do you not like them?"
Then she quickly added: "Oh, pardon my manners, I neglected to introduce myself: My name is Eisen Marionette Coppelia Schneider. A pleasure to meet you!"
"Sorry, I wouldn't know about that," Eisen said. "I've never been in the military."
