Marko inspected the letter.

"We are pleased to invite you.....mrmrmr....we will be awaiting you're arrival at....hrmrhrm" Marko looked up from the letter a bit dumbfounded, before sheepishly turning to Eisen, "I feel I must apologize Miss Schnieder, I was laboring under the delusion that you were an adolescent, and not in fact a peer both in power and age."

Two minutes in and already you've made a fool of yourself, nice going McCool.

"Apology accepted," Eisen simply said. "This is all very new to me, so please excuse me if I appear out of place."

"Vegans, you know, like vegetarians only more strict. No meat, milk or eggs," Vi explained.

Eisen considered this for a moment. "I suppose that makes me a vegan, then," she concluded.

"Tried it once when I was young, but I just like meat too much. And it's a pleasure to meet you Eisen. Please, call me Vi. I hope we can become fast friends."

"Oh, I hope so too," Eisen said. "I've always wanted friends!"

King cocked his head to the side and smirked. "haha royalty, yeah let's go with that" he told her. "SO uh, nice Hovmeister, haven't seen one of those not in pieces though" he told her

Sloane loomed over the students, soaking in the fruits of their conversations.

He wanted to puke already.

"Goddamn, this is boring."

Compared to running around for his life, of course. And the daily work at his shop. A good kind of boring, for the most part. This stagnant atmosphere wasn't illegal or life threatening, which was more than he could say for some of these people's personalities.

There has to be some kind of law against being so dumb. There has to be.

Mack did a double-take. The guy was... pretty big. Pretty obviously not a teacher, though.

"Yeah. This 'hurry up and wait' crap ain't really impressin' me either."

He takes the hand and shakes it with a smile. Then says, "Not really an idea why we're here. I think we're here for training."

He smiles, "Alright, Vi it is."

"The kid hasn't even had cheese! What kind of life is that, huh?" He shook his head. "A toy in a dollhouse, I'd say. Isn't that right, little miss?" He shot a nasty grin at Eisen.

"She's here." Samantha answered. "Even if she was a doll, she is no longer. She has power, and she will use it. That makes her one of us. The sooner we treat each other like adults, the sooner we will be adults."

Eisen looked a bit intimidated by the offer, but smiled. "Ah, thank you for the generous offer. I guess I could use a few pointers. To answer your question: No, I was not raised in a bubble. However, I have spent most of my upbringing in my uncle's house in Sector 1. It's only recently I've been allowed to go outside." She smiled an awkward smile. "Because of that, there's a lot I don't know about."

[The Dog]

Marko touched his touched his forehead in way of greeting, "Nice to meet you as well, Miss St. Johns."

"Same here." Selma returned, tipping her hat slightly to him.

"Thanks. I was worried I took too many breaks coming up here. I'm afraid my heart condition doesn't leave me with the stamina of most, but I do try. It was quite fun, I do like nature," she said.

Selma smiled and patted her on the shoulder as she said "Don't ya worry none, it's not ya fault ya got a bad heart. Great grandpa had a bum ticker too, and he lived quite the full life, at least according ta my dad."

Eisen considered this for a moment. "I suppose that makes me a vegan, then," she concluded.

"Wow, I admire your ability to do that then. Is it choice or just what your family's always done?" Vi asked.

"Oh, I hope so too," Eisen said. "I've always wanted friends!"

"Glad to hear it. I've no experience with people myself, I spent most my years in a hospital. This is quite nice," Vi said.

Slowly, lazily up the stairs walked one Boss Bali, trailing behind many of his classmates. His bags were hanging lazily off his right shoulder and a single drop of sweat dripped onto one of his sideburns, though oddly enough, he didn't seem to be doing much seating at all. Bali lifted up his hat with his left hand, scratching the back of his head, while pointing his thumb backwards towards the steps below. "Never seen so many stairs in my life," Boss muttered. "And I'm not one to get easily winded much, but that's-" Boss paused to catch a breath. "-That's a lotta steps y'know?" Boss concluded, taking a seat on the ground.

From out of his backpack, Boss drew out a foil wrapped sandwich and began to dig in. "Nefer sheen sho muny treesh before to be honesht," Boss added between bites. "Oh! And I go by Boss, in case anyone was wondering."
