Longshot but I'm looking for the first Batman comic I ever came across. Something about Batman stalking a chainsaw killer at large in Gotham. Probably came out circa '90-93. That's all I remember sadlyIt was quite gruesome from what I remember.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe I dreamt this up as I've googled and checked annuals, crossovers, everything , but no mention of any chainsaw killers in the Bat-past.
I remember the art as clear as day though. It was very grim and dark, and the killer had long black hair, and punk-like fashion sense. Did DC show dead bodies back then? I remember some bloody panels.

Might be Detective Comics 657 which has a chainsaw wielding dude choking Robin.
