DC Announces New Annuals For "Superman," "Detective Comics" & More

DC Comics continues to expand the DCU with new annual issues for select New 52 titles including "Superman," "Detective Comics," "The Flash," "Green Lantern" and "Justice League International" hitting stores August 29.

These all sound interesting. I'm especially interested in the JLI Annual (one of my fave New52 books). A JL crossover event later this year? Cool. The Superman Annual also sounds okay; maybe I'll finally give the book a try. As for the Flash, it better getxhere quick!

Will be picking up Flash,Green Lantern and JLI for sure. Considering Superman and will wait to see what other members(members who usually like things I like) think of the Detective Comics annuals..

what is the point of these annuals? I don't understand the need for them, do I have to read them to get was is going on in the main title? I have a pretty strict budget for comics and if I have to purchase these along with the standard issues then I might as well drop the title all together :\

The annuals are only coming out because of 5 week months. They gotta fill their schedules somehow. Some annuals seem like the are parts of the storyline (Flash, Green Lantern) while others look like oneshots (Superman, JLI, Detective). We'll find out more next week when the full solicits are revealed.

Too further add, JLI is actually part of the story line and will have major impacts on the Justice League titles... So yes, if you are picking up any of these titles, I'd definitely get the annuals excluding Superman and Detective which seem to just be side stories.
