It’s also why, I suspect that we’ll only see this version of Earth 2 in books with more of group focus, and rarely if ever see a solo-title for any of the characters like The Flash or Green Lantern. That and I seriously think they wouldn’t ever want to risk the ‘alternative’ versions of these characters becoming popular enough, or critical darlings over and above the ‘branded versions’ on Earth One.
Or they could do a comic like they did with the pre-relaunch JSA vs Kobra mini, which was mainly a solo focus for the 2nd Mr Terrific, but had enough of the rest of the team in the background to justify it having JSA in the title instead of just Mr Terrific

In that case, they could either title the comic under the Earth 2 or JSA banner, give a single main character the spotlight but include enough other JSA or E2 characters to be able to safely hide giving an E2 counterpart prominent attention that might not otherwise be favored

I'd say we'd be getting EARTH 2 PRESENTS before a specific solo book, and only if Robinson wanted it.

It seems odd to me that Brett Booth's costume designs in Teen Titans suck, when he's turned in lots of good designs (most of which were rejected). This leads me to believe that it was the interference of editorial that ruined him in TT, like with whoever actually designed the new Power Girl costume.
Looking for artists, know I won't find any. That blows.

Has anyone seen these alternate E2 Alan Scott Green Lantern designs? Here they art:http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryP...143&GSub=85268, http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryP...139&GSub=85268, and the final design they picked http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryP...146&GSub=85268.

They look pretty cool. Does anyone prefer any of the other alternate designs? The design #3 is pretty cool looking, but it reminds me of Parallax. Have we got to see any design work for the new E2 Flash besides the cover art?

I agree with you about the symbol for the first one. It kind of looks like a flame or something. I didn't think of it, but it does remind me of a Blue Lantern design too. I really like #3 too, but the shoulder armor should maybe be more like the first design. At least it'd be easier to move with it, haha.

I'm pretty much liking all the E2 character designs that we've seen so far though.

I love the costume they chose to go with but damn I love #1 so much more. The green flame logo I'm pretty sure is a reference to his getting his powers from the "green flame" prior to it having the name identity of the Starheart. The second costume looks too much like Hallax.

Speaking of "doppelgängers", have we gotten any confirmation that Jay and Alan will be The Flash and Green Lantern in name as well. I believe I did read somewhere that Al Pratt will inherit "Atom Smasher", and seeing how a green flame was considered for a symbol on one of those costumes makes me wonder if we'll be getting new names for Jay and Alan. I can see Jay going by Mercury or something like that given that it looks he actually will be directly inheriting his powers from Mercury himself. Alan SHOULD go by Green Lantern, but maybe they're going to return the Green Flame name (which was incidentally also used for Alan's Justice Guild counterpart in Justice League Unlimited) or maybe Sentinel again.

"Starman" seems to be to the DCnU as Hawkman was for Post-Crisis. I think there's a simple way to resolve Starman, Hawkman, and Shade quickly before more comics start using the characters as well as introduce more complications to straightening them out.

    Hawkman
I think everyone already expects this title to be cancelled and forgotten anyways, so go ahead and have Prime Earth Carter Hall die. Introduce Robinson's Hawkman as Earth Two's Carter Hall, who now has no doppelgänger back on Prime Earth complete with all the Egyptian/reincarnation goodies. Basically, Lincoln Lee (Fringe reference) Hawkman.

    The Shade
As someone stated earlier, just have him have the ability to cross Earths with simplicity and ease, not to take anything away from the probably first meeting between Barry and Jay nor the complexities with travelling between universes. This character needs to be involved in Earth Two far more than Prime Earth.

    Starman/Stargirl
If you could convince DC to preserve the Starman series in the same soft reboot way they did Batman and Green Lantern, you could have Ted and Jack have adventures as Starman without actually being public heroes nor recognizable. If anything, limit their costume-wearing to when they're off-planet. I think the most important thing to DC with their whole 5-year hero/9-year hero/whatever thing is that they mean JUST on Earth and only in terms with the term "superhero" and public perception. Doing this you can pretty much preserve 98% of the Starman series, complete with Jack retiring and passing along his cosmic rod to Courtney. Unfortunately, Ted would not be able to have shared adventures with his fellow de-aged JSA pals, but given the rich history given to him as just Ted Knight, scientist/student for life, in Robinson's series, I think it would be okay leaving him as an older presence in the Earth Two present. Stargirl/Courtney's new introduction could even involve Jack's passing on the cosmic rod along with Pat building his S.T.R.I.P.E.S armor. Sylvester Pemberton's past relationship with Ted can be preserved and can be used as the bridge character for bringing Courtney into the fold.

the problem with Starman is not DC, is just Robinson
he has been ask several times to bring Jack Knight back and he just doesnt want to cause he wants to preserve the ending he wrote for him

    CAPE!

As for names, I say keep them the originals, mostly. They've also referred to Garrick and Scott as The Flash and Green Lantern in solicits, too. Hawkgirl is the Hawkman analogue, clearly. I like that the people behind the masks might not be the originals, like with Kendra Hall here. Makes Kate Spencer Manhunter more likely!

No, no, no. Given that Hawkman of Earth 2 isn't going to be the old Earth Two anyways, why waste Katar Hol? He will be in Trinity War given the foldout in FCBD issue so even if his title doesn't make it, he'll have a home. Hawkgirl can have all the Egyptian/reincarnation stuff if its to be part of Earth 2. But I definitely want Katar back as the main Hawkman... as well as having more than one title to make appearences in. Earth 2 only means no Superman teamups. No Wonder Woman teamups. No Justice Leage membership. Too high a price.

Oh, forgot to mention, I liked the first costume for Alan also but happy with the final one. And I've always liked the name Sentinel myself. Who knows, Jay could take Impulse.

I wonder if this gotham will not be as bleak. Without Batman to be the draw will fewer nuts jobs head there or will nothing change?

I think the Egyptian Hawkman angle is much better than Katar Hol. And I think that by far a position as JSA leader is the only way to make Hawkman matter. In the JLA, he is a nobody and always was. I think Hawkman and Hawkgirl are best when they are together. I also think them avoiding direct counterparts is stupid.

Of course the only Earth-Two that counts for me is the Pre-Crisis one, so it's all a moot point.

Couldn't be more interested in this. Exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to hear about Earth 2. Can't wait for more!
