Default Robinson reveals more E2 details in Podcast

Robinson revealed further E2 details and hints in a podcast on Comic Vine last week. I dunno if any of this stuff has been posted yet, but anyway, here goes-

    Possible SPOILERS

-Robinson has stated that the final strength of the Justice Society in his book will be 'more than five' members.

-Ted Grant/Wildcat will eventually be a major player in the book.

-There is a new character, an Amazon, who will join the team and some point and seek to avenge Wonder Woman's death at Steppenwolf's hands.

-Hawkgirl is exclusive to Earth 2; in a similar vein, as per an editorial mandate, there will be no direct doppelganger's between Earth 2 and Earth 0 (which is one of the reasons why the Trinity were killed off).

-E2 is apparently a more 'metaphysical' world, with many of the heroes' origins/powers having a mystical aspect (including the seemingly scientific origins of Atom).

-While the book with focus on the Justice Society, there will also be some focus on the larger universe and other characters not directly connected to the team.

-Helena's mother IS Catwoman, and at this point, Robinson is unsure as to whether or not she's still alive and/or will be making an appearance.

-Robinson won't necessarily be employing plot details from the original pre-Crisis Earth 2.

-There will be flashbacks to the era of the Trinity.

-Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman were the first heroes of E2; and they began their careers around '9 years ago' (though Robinson wasn't too clear on that).

Has Robinson said anything in regards to how he plans to use "Ted Knight/Starman" and/or "Jack Knight/Starman"? Are they gonna be E1 or E2? Would be odd to have a "Justice Society" that didn't feature them in some way ~ although, if he were to use them in this "re-imagined" E2, he'd have to redo his work on "Starman." That'd be a shame to mess up that whole saga.

Glad to hear that "Ted Grant/Wildcat" is still around.

"Hawkgirl" is exclusive to E2. Take that to mean that "Hawkman" is exclusive to E1? Are we gonna have a cross-worlds romance here?

Metaphysical works for me given the original history of the JSA to begin with. The JLA = science. The JSA = magic of a sorts.

If the Trinity had a 9 year head start, I'd believe that there should at least be a handful of heroes that had cropped up before this latest generation.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

They asked him about Ted Knight--he sort of hemmed and hawed about it and said maybe but it would be tricky. Possibly this means that Jack or David or Courtney has the rod (or staff, or whatever) and he has to see if there's a permissible way to bring Ted in as an older man--but I'm just guessing.

He did say it was pretty much inevitable that they would meet at some point.

Is the Shade set in the DCnU? Because they had Mikaal show up in there but there wasn't an explicit references to Jack, I don't think. Maybe Robinson saved Jack for the main Earth?

I doubt that the DC editors had made up their minds about the other Starmans when Robinson's Shade came out. Shade is set on Prime Earth (new52 Earth). Deathstroke's appearance proves that. There will be no Deathstroke on Earth 2.

Deathstroke appeared, so it's DCnU. Am I the only one who remembers that Robinson originally said that The Shade mini would begin with an incident at The Starman museum? That not happening in the mini would suggest the Starman legacy is out of the DCnU.

If the Trinity popped up 9 years ago then Helena would have been 6 or so when Bruce became Batman

wow, Hawkman just cannot get a break

so i guess this confirms that the Hawkman/Hawkgirl story of Brightest Day is out of continuity

Ithink he meant no *alive* doppelgangers. The trinity are obvious examples, maybe that's the excuse they're using for the Hawkman/Hawkgirl thing. Either way, keeping them on separate Earths is not one of DC's best ideas, IMO.
Top 3: Batman, Wonder Woman, X-force

Good to hear about Ted, I have been a Wildcat fan since I bought a Treasury Edition Sensation Comics #1 reprint back in the 1970s as a kid!

I want Hawkgirl in JSA anyway!

I wish the new Amazon is Donna Troy! She could be Diana's younger sister raised in Man's World same age as Power Girl and Huntress!

The new Justice Society should have 8 founding members like the 1940 original JSA!

Earth 2 and Worlds' Finest are my FAVORITE comics!

I wonder if they'll make Ted an MMA fighter or something now.
