Also, her hair is that red, but she also wears a matching wig while in costume for safety reasons.
This is comics, by the way. If you can suspend your disbelief to enjoy supernatural and alien characters, you can deal with a pale redhead.

Sometimes I buy this series just to admire the cover artwork. That picture of the cover for Batwoman #12 is outstanding, and even if the plot inside were a complete mess I'd pay just for that!!
I like the artwork more with, though he draws some things slightly differently proportioned, hah. As usual, I'm not 100% sure where the plot is going.
I know, right? What is it about this exaggerated visual in a comic book that some people can't seem to wrap their head around? As has been stated and shown several times there are people who are real live people and are sort of around that pale.
Anyway, this is a good preview. It feels more like JHW3 again and I don't know what happened to Guy Major because his coloring was not so good in the first 3 issues but this is much better (though we'll have to see with other scenes). Looking forward to this issue and the day people quit bringing up how pale she is in every thread like it's something so confusing or new.
I have red hair, and if I don't go out and get some sun I will get very pale. That's probably why Kate is pale. One of the things I liked in the last 3 issues under Reeder, her complexion better.
Kate's pale because she's a Rockabilly Goth chick. It's in the notes in the back of Elegy. Girls like that make themselves look pale.
/case solved.
So yeah. That last panel is pretty interesting.
Oh Kate, why you must be such a ladies' lady?. This issue was a great.
All the plot points were solved together here in a pretty satisfying way, I just hope that Bette's fate is not final. Also, McCarthy's art was fantastic, the best I've seen from him and even better than Reeder's previous issues.
I'm liking the direction that title is taking, let's see how it progress.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.
The art was fantastic, and though this issue was better then the last couple, its was still just all over the place. I do gotta question though, did Kate kill that dude at the end? I mean u see the guys skull.

Standout issue of the arc, mostly for McCarthy's pencils. I'm a big fan of Reeder but McCarthy seems to fit the tone a fair bit better. He's a good pick here, and I hope he stays on alternating with Williams.
I appreciate the experimental nature of the out-of-sync scenes and the Christopher Nolan-iness of it all. It's interesting what reveals come when and what changes in resonance they have when you shift scenes out-of-sync. That said, in this story I feel like I want to cut up some pages and read them all in chrono order and that it'd be just as good (or better, particular as far as momentum). So I intend to try that when I reread the arc.
Anyway it's not over, we've got our worst cliffhangers yet. Is Medusa real or imaginary? Where'd the urban legends go? Uh-oh on the whole two ladies vying for you front, Kate. And biggest and most troublesome; Bette just flatlined.
Kate's dedication to rescuing children from nefarious harm is admirable and cuts deep to her core.

This issue rewarded me for not dropping the rest of the arc. It was much more satisfying than the few before it.
Still, far from perfect. I am ready for it to finish up, and start a more linear story.
The art was great, but let me down just a little bit on the last panel. Was Kate surprised or going for it? I couldn't tell. At any rate, I'm still sad we lost Amy but this new guy is good too.
Apart from that no complaints. I think the story has been solid and the way it was told interesting and different, plus, it doesn't allow you to rush. I look forward to the collected trades.

I really Appreatiate that Macarthy like Williams Has Kates Nipples Visible from her suit :) it just seems right!

thats some razor hot art - good work sir.
not got my copy yet but i'm a bit bummed to hear its still in same format as past issues as i have totally lost the thread of what this story is about. At least i can look at the pretty pictures for now and hope it will all make sense when i re-read it all at the end of the story. That said this is still my favourite book from DC as i am enjoying kate and maggie's relationship - and some of the other bits of the story i have been able to follow
