I dunno; Jean-Paul was a flop, true, but few people complained about Dick.

    Hum..

    Logan = Wolverine
    Peter Parker = Spider-Man
    Bruce Wayne = Batman
    Clark Kent = Super Man
    Matt Murdock = DareDevil
    Reed Richard = Mr. Fantastic
    Human Torch = Johnny Storm
    Steve Rogers = Cap America
    etc etc etc.

You may have fill-ins from time to time, but there are no replacements for the originals.

Spider-Man is as much Peter Parker as the other way around

Peter Parker is Spider-Man's secret identity and is also a fictional character. In the previous Spidey movies Pete was played by Tobey McGuire. In this new movie Andrew Garfield is going to be playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man. I hope this helps with OP's confusion...
If thats the case, may God have mercy on the OP's soul. (jk)

I still hope for his return!

Plus, it's an alternative universe, it's more acceptable to have someone else fill the shoes of a established hero (however lacking in creativity). Still I'm against it no matter what universe

I disagree that it's lacking in creativity. And because of alternate universes, it can be done (like you said), but that doesn't mean it's taboo. It's a legitimate storytelling technique that is used every so often.

And you should feel free to make that argument in the Ultimate Universe forum. This place, however, is the main universe forum... And at the end of the day, its 616 that carries the brand.
Primary pulls: X-Factor, Hawkeye, Young Avengers, Avengers Arena, X-Men: Legacy, Uncanny X-Force, FF, Archer and Armstrong

I think it lacks creativity, because if you should make some character a super hero, make him an original one. I understand your point of views, I just think Peter Parker should be spider man and if were to die (as in UU) then have no one else become the hero. It's like a retired jersey.

I don't think that's so much a problem of creativity as the state of the industry. I think plenty of people would like to see new characters pushed rather than legacies being pushed. Or at least we like to say that, but new characters tend not to sell all that well if their not linked to a previous character. Even those with links tend to be a hard sell sometimes. I agree that Peter Parker will always be or go back to being Spider-man, and for the purposes of film I don't think their is any reason to explore alternate people in the identity, but within comics it's worth exploring if it's done well.

But, depsite that Marvel has stated that it's going to be Peter's last year as Spider-Man in the 616.

Perhaps doing such a thing with their flagship character is Marvel's version of what DC has done by revamping their entire universe. In Marevl's case their just doing it with one character.

Because even if they wanted to make it Miles, the movie was in production LOOOOOOOOOOONG before that was even an option.

    Exactly, well said.

You wouldn't find it, because they never said that with the purpose of killing Peter and replace with someone else.
