Bill Jemas' Marvel Appreciation
So, I saw Talisman posted an appreciation thread for his favorite Marvel era, so, like a particularly irritating moth to a flame, I'm making one for my favorite era, too! I know this era (2001-2004) is both popular and somewhat controversial among fans, so a place to discuss it doesn't really sound like a bad idea, no?
I mostly know of Jemas's Marvel through the X-Books, which isn't surprising as I'm mostly an X-Men fan. And what I saw was glorious: exploration of new genres by Marvel, can you believe it!? If you wanted to see Marvel characters in a high school drama, or a crime drama, or a spy thriller, suddenly you could! Marvel wasn't just about superheroes anymore. These characters of course had superpowers, but they weren't really part of the genre. And, lo and behold, this business decision (at least in my humble opinion) worked! Okay, there was Austen, but we all make mistakes, right?

Game Breaker
Bill Jemas may have been a tool personally like many said, but I loved that he wasn't afraid to try to diversify the content that Marvel put out there. Did it all work, hell no, but I appreciate the effort and after he was gone, you could see a noticable shift away from that stuff to the current state we are in where everything is either Spider-man, Avengers or X-Men.
