Default Retcon Movie Avengers with S&W!

    You heard it here first.

Through the usual Plot Device Magical, movie versions of Spider-Man (from the first three films, not the upcoming release) and Wolverine have now been retroactively added to the Avengers movie. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to try to embed these characters into the plot. Can that mission be accomplished without mutilating the movie beyond recognition? How will they interact with the other Avengers. and what contributions can they make to the defeat of the Chitauri?

This post will self-destruct in five seconds. Needless to say, I disavow any responsibility for the replies it may get.

Spiderman some-how turns the two and half hour movie into a four hour movie of sadness and sappy romance that he invariably screws up beyond all recognition...
And Wolverine somehow displays that he can be KO'd by a regular person but yet is able to fight The Hulk to a stand-still in the same movie.

    :D

Beyond the Nagging... We get to see an awesome conversation between Logan and Steve about Cap's uniform.

The final fight would indeed look awesome though with two other ground-level people mauling the street-level Chitauri.
Wolverine getting shredded by energy, just to regenerate and hack them up.
Spiderman flying around on webbing, ripping them to shreds at insane speeds.

Yeah, it may destroy the movie but it would look pretty!
The Avengers: It is less of a movie and more of a Religious Experience.
It will change the way you view... well, everything.

And people would come to this forum and rag on that issue for years.

    Haha.
    Yes, they would. Endlessly. :)

At least we would get to see if The Hulk has an insane healing factor in the movie or is he just ridiculously tough.

My oldest brother used to own a Smith & Wesson .45 revolver back in the good old days when it was still possible for citizens to legally own such items in Canada. He kept it on top of the family refrigerator for about ten years.

If the plot's the mostly the same, Spider-man would be hard to give a specific goal/purpose to. He'd sort of be going in and out of everyone's roles in the movies annoying people. Of course, they'd have a way easier time dealing with the invasion flying scooter shooters. I wouldn't have minded spidey in the movie, but it would of had a different feel if they gave any focus to Peter.

Wolverine would just get in people's way and mash poorly with everyone. i also don't see any real role he could have played in the movie. He'd probably end up knocked out and out of commission in the final battle, if not sooner.

What if they introduce Wolverie at the beginning of the movie as someone who is working with SHIELD, perhaps Nick Fury has promised him information on his past in exchange for testing how the Tessaract works with Adamantium. Then Loki shows up and Logan works with Maria Hill to try to get the cube back, even at one point jumping on to Loki's truck only to get blasted away by Loki. Then he can be with Black Widow, and Cap as they go after Loki in Germany, perhaps Captain America can throw a couple lines in hinting of a prevous encounter between the two of them. This gets cut short by their arrival, and both Logan and Cap go toe to toe with Loki, though even together it isn't enough until Ironman gets their. When Thor arrives, Logan jumps out of the quinjet after him and repetitively interupts Ironamn and Thor's battle only to get continuously knocked away by their moves. After the fight he and the Hulk get manipulated into fighting each other by Loki (Logan being rather pissed at this point, from being a punching bag). Though this doesn't go any better and he gets punched through a wall before the Hulk chases Black Widow. In the end he agrees to go with Captain America and the others to fight Loki, and gets more then a few scenes fighting aliens, including one where the hulk throws Logan Speedball style at Loki knocking him down. Also a few extra scenes with Logan talking to Cap, Banner, and Nick Fury should be added. He should encourage Banner to let out his Angry side, but in a controlled manner, giving him some tips from his own expirience.

Spiderman, should be introduced as someone who Fury has an eye on, showing up in his reports. He can also have a retroactive seen in the incredible Hulk, saving civilians in the background. he can have a short scene talking with Tony in his tower, (perhaps as an intern) where Tony hints at the fact that he knows who he is, but Parker declines to discuss things. Fury can note when the rest of the Avengers are gathered that his teams are still trying to track down that webhead, and Phil Coulson can have a scene earlier in the film (perhaps while the others are in Germany) telling Peter how SHIELD needs heroes like him, and establishing that the two know each other, with Phil acting as more of a mentor figure to Peter. When Loki gets to the tower a fight takes place between him and Spiderman, but Spiderman can't beat him, and Tony shows up just in time to distract Loki and allow Spiderman to get away, and get the armour Tony made for him (a quick revalation that Tony knew will have been made). Then They all fight aliens together.
