Default Does CAFU's work remind you of Gary Frank?

I'm a fan of Gary Frank's work and I see some similarities with CAFU. I was curious if anyone else notices or thinks the two have similar styles.

I don't really see it, I think CAFU's style resembles Carlos Pacheco's style more than anything else.

I agree with you, I definitely think they have a similar style.

Does CAFU have a project lined up now that Blackhawks is done? If not I have to imagine he will be on some new book with the next wave, or taking over as the new artist on some current book. He's too good to leave on the sidelines.

A little bit, particularly his Grifter run but I usually find that he has a distinct style of his own.

Nah, the guy he most resembles is John Cassady.

THUNDER Agents, with he and Spencer at the helm, had a very old school Wildstorm feel to it in my mind for just that reason.

I'm hoping Cafu becomes the new regular artist on Action Comics or Superman.

Yeah, I was actually thinking as I posted in this thread that I would like him on Superman. He did some Superman covers (and maybe interiors) a few years ago that were really cool, had a very modern sci-fi vibe.

Fialkov & CAFU on Superman...do it, DC

And yes, if not that, as a fill-in on Action would be great. He's arguably better than Morales, but I like Rags' best work more than CAFU's best work (but CAFU is more consistent).

In general I'm neutral on Morales and if his pencils on Action Comics were like his work on Identity Crisis or even Superman/Batman I would be okay with it. But its not, his stuff on AC looks extremely rushed.

Yeah I suppose they have similar style. Gary Frank's character I think have a little more wrinkly-lines to them than CAFU though. Both are terrific artists though.

    Definitely.

Nowhere near as good or polished IMO, but certainly similar. It's one of the reasons I don't mind CAFU's stuff.

It sounds like Lobdell might be taking over Superman if you believe Bleeding Cool.

I can certainly think of a worse team than him and CAFU on that title. That would be a lot of fun IMO.
