Default Does joke garbage like Glob Herman detract from the narrative quality of AvX?

Seriously. AvX is shaping up to the dramatic event Marvel's wanted to put out but never had the intestinal fortitude to do so. What's your reaction when the gripping prose is rendered inert when "comedy relief" like Marvel's very own Alfred E. Neumann-like Glob Herman saunters across the page like an insouciant dogturd trail in the middle of your fine-weave Kerman Vase carpet.

At any rate, here's his b.s. if you can't get enough: Hurr. Hurr.

Glob is an important inclusion to the X-men franchise for the following reasons: He isn't a brilliant young man; in fact, he is an imbecile, and he isn't photogenic; in fact, his powers are disgusting. Aside from his mutation, Glob is as ordinary as it gets. He has a simplistic sense of humor and a love of bad punnery. I've known and worked with people like Glob in my life, large uncomfortable boys awkwardly trying to socialize with other people and be accepted. They'll laugh at others in hopes of being included on the joke, but it isn't done out of malice, it's out of the real fear of exclusion. Pull them out of the pack, and you'll find they have a gentler disposition. Glob has absolutely nothing in his life aside from his mutation and the people who are forced to deal with him due to circumstances beyond anyone's control. No one would willingly be around a Glob if they weren't near extinction. He's pitied and tolerated, and on an unseen level, he probably realizes this. What's adulthood got to offer him aside from absolute misery? Did you really feel nothing when She-Hulk swatted him down and called him a monster?

I felt dismayed at She Hulk's odd mischaracterization (no matter what you think of the character, I don't think she'd be prone to drop a "monster!" epithet considering who she's hung out with - and had sex with) and even more dismayed that I was reading a scene with Glob Herman.

That got retconned out. She hulk doesn't give no honey to no Juggernaut. Dan Slot with the C-block after the fact.

No, but it doesn't matter. A She-Hulk slept with him.
