    Default Wonder Woman Annual?

So far this week, DC has announced annuals for all the JL members with their own books except Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Do you think Wonder Woman will get one?

If it happens in August, like most of the others, it could feature the birth of Zola's baby (since she goes into labor in July). It would be nice if it were to feature the return of the Amazons--after all, #11 shows Diana on Zeus' throne, and if that means anything she may have the wherewithal to bring her family back.

I would love a WW annual, but Azzarello has a lot going on right now (WW, Spaceman, two Before Watchmen books) would he have the time to write one?

And who would do the art?

War always has much to do. ;)

With both Aquaman and WW doing so well, I'm a bit surprised by the lack of annuals for them.

Are annuals any different from normal books? I mean couldnt he just continue his story in the Annual?

Yeah, but there would be two comics to write for August--#12 and the annual.

On the other hand, maybe someone else could write Wonder Woman #0 in September, and Azz's Wonder Woman Annual could come out then.

Or maybe there WILL be one in August. They've announced a JL-member annual for August every day this week, so I imagine they'll announce at least one tomorrow--Wonder Woman, Aquaman and/or Justice League Annual. Maybe it will be the Justice League Annual featuring Wonder Woman and Aquaman in a special "spotlight" story?

Well, Cyborg doesn't have his own book, either, so an Annual would be a little unusual.

Annuals usually have self-contained stories and don't relate to the current storyline in the main title. If WW gets an annual, Azzarello doesn't have to write it.

That's not always true . . . look at the Teen Titans Annual that came out this month. It continued from the regular issues and is the first past of The Culling.

Whether annuals are stand-alone or tied in to regular ongoing stories will vary.

Annuals usually cost more and have more pages than regular books, so if the story isn't longer than a regular issue, there have to be additional back-up stories or features included.

I'd want him to write it, he has some explaining to do. And anyone but Chiang on good girl art.

Doubt you really want an explanation more than you want an official apology along with announcement that the run would be explained as a bad dream and a new writer would begin.

When I was growing up thousands of years ago, annuals used to be REALLY big books. You could knock out someone by hitting them on the head with it. Are they still this way or am I being stupid again? Not wanting to get accused of being a dinosaur again!
