Default Before 'The Batman' there was...

    Alfred

    Spy, Special Agent, Actor

So many stories that could be told.

    I know they've had back-ups here and there...but I want more.

    What say you?

Maybe we should see if/how/when more of Alfred's pre-Bruce background gets revealed within the regular Bat-books before deciding on whether we want to see more?

And remember, when Alfred was originally introduced into Batman, he was an overweight, bumbling detective-wannabe who accidentally stumbled upon Bruce's and Dick's secret identities.

But then he evolved / changed to a slimmer and eventually more serious character with a World War II background (and a love-child with Mademoiselle Marie).

Hell's yes. I would buy an Alfred mini.

I'm going to go with no on reading more about Alfred's past. I like the air of intrigue and mystery he has.

I'm gonna say no. Can't a character ever just be a regular joe? Nothing kills a franchise quicker than making everyone involved a star.

Well for all intent and purposes I guess Alfred is the closets thing he has as a parent/guardian

One of my fave Alfred moments is from the first Batman film where Bruce is just putting things down willy nilly and Alfred is behind him to pick things up

Which "first Batman film"? Nolan's, Burton's, or another one?

Burton's, in the party scene at the manor.

On the one hand, I like Alfred's past being a bit of a mystery. But if someone had a good story to tell I would love a storyline or miniseries focussed on Alfred whether in the past or modern day. But then again I'd probably read a series about Alfred making sandwiches and having long meaningful chats with the family. (with a little battle butlering on the side.)

Alfred the spy is awesome, but should be used sparingly. So tentatively I'd say no I guess; an on-going probably wouldn't be up my alley.

I'd like to see how he came to meet the Waynes. All the spy/special agent/actor s**t can wait for a whole Alfred comic series.

IIRC that would be a really boring story. His dad probably introduced him to them at some point, or he just walked up and rang the doorbell while carrying his father's letter.
