The avengers are all worried about hope and the phoenix force but have forgotten about wanda and all of the things she has done. They let her walk right up to the mansion and leave and did not even try to place her in custody for all the death and destruction she caused, but are so quick to jump on the hope and the xmen and she has not even done anything yet.

The Scarlet Witch wiped out most of mutantkind, the Phoenix wiped out whole planets. I think the Phoenix wins.

The Phoenix never killed anyone until Marvel jumped the shark with this thin AvX plot and the Scarlet Witch was possessed.
Given that AvX is canon, you have to go with the Phoenix.
Before Marvel vs The Shark, both parties were 99.9% benign.Sorry Brevoort, Alonso and Lowe, but Jean Grey is a classic character. She'll outlive you regardless. :)
