Default Punisher #11 - Punisher vs Zombies! *Spoilers*

    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...eview&id=12282

Looks like Bolt has come clean at last and Frank is on the hunt for Rachel. Not to mention a weird random zombie attack.

    Anyone read it yet?

I read it. Meh. Black Talon has been a non-villain for so long. Who cares about him? I'm also sick of all the interrogation flashback storytelling going on. Also why is Punisher chainsawing a soldier in Punisher #10? I reviewed it at my site too. You can find those in my signature.

Didn't read. I deliberately skipped this issue because of the zombie business.

At least the zombies had a connection to an actual villain. I felt like they were okay, but the plot and pacing was meh.

Yeah I don't find zombies any more jarring in a Punisher book than superheroes and supervillains.

    I liked it.
I mean, it's Punisher fighting zombies. That's pretty awesome! xD
And I liked how he shot the bad guy right when he was in the middle of his evil speech.
It's a nice subversion of the normal Super hero/Super villian interaction. Which I thought was pretty awesome too. :)
Pull list: Amazing Spider-Man, Deadpool, Scarlet Spider, Defenders, Uncanny X-Force, JiM, W&TXM, Swamp Thing, i Vampire, Adventure Time, Snarked, Avengers vs X-Men

I really liked it. Obviously, I know Frank is a real person, but the Punisher/Bolt relationship had a real "Fight Club" vibe about it where the two are so inextricably linked to one another that Frank almost ends up seeming like a part of Bolt - the deadly, hyper-efficient, "hero" part.

I don't get why a couple of you were down on this issue?
Yeah, Black Talon is a forgettable villain...it's why they allowed Rucka to have Punisher off him naturally.
The heart of the story is Rucka tying up his first year's arc by having Bolt come clean and yet STILL be a cop. The real world twist of politics and pr over the truth I think speaks volumes. No doubt things like this go down for real.

Frank, despite telling Daredevil he likely couldn't find Rachel unless she wanted to be found last issue, is coming to Bolt for any information on her he doesn't already have. He intends to find her.
The issue is an indirect crossover of sorts having Carlie Cooper on a date with Bolt. It's this type of subtle cross pollination that helps keep Frank grounded and recognizable in the main 616 universe, imo, and it works. The big pollination events like last issue worked also, but as they say "sometimes it's the little things".

Good issue sort of reminded me of Remenders run in that Frank killing of z list villains in slightly silly situations, but it was far more grounded because of the cops interview....

Agreed on everything you said here.

Absolutely loved the ending....poor Bolt, you can't get away from Frank THAT easy.

This was my first issue since the Ennis Max series, and I'm very happy with the tone. 616 Punisher has been really silly at times, and I'm glad Rucka's able to make him prt of the super-hero world without things like a Punisher jetplane

I think Rucka should do his own version of BORN MU 616 set in A mid east war, have Rucka give it his own spin on the story...

I've not looked lately, need to I suppose, but I hope sales are on an uptick coming out of the Omega crossover.

The crossover issue was up about 10,000 copies, but it remains to be seen if it will retain any of that.
