Well maybe not exactly that, but something along those lines. This reminds me of the time Bendis wrote Dr Doom calling Ms Marvel a "fat cow".
Bendis has everyone call Ms. Marvel a fat cow. Thinking about it, what does he have against her that he feels every villain would call her fat?

I don't hate Bendis he has a relative consistency in quality between his books, but seriously consistency isn't what makes the cosmic stuff good. It's the chaotic element that really brought me into Marvel's cosmic book, the grand anything can happen feeling where seemingly unrelated events would lead into each other.

lots of writers have characters call her fat

Carol is one of Bendis's favorite characters [but not a pet character apparently for some hypocritical fanboy reason]

He was trying to be funny and reference a little meme that was going around. But the point is, he either doesn't understand or doesn't care, or both, in regards to the little details of these characters. He might grasp the basic fundamentals, like in this case, Thanos being obsessed with Death, but he doesn't get the details and can't write the character with dialogue that suits him. Same with Doom. Doom might call Ms Marvel fat, but he wouldn't actually use those words. He'd say something like "bloated wench", not "fat cow".

Bendis doesn't seem to grasp the little details. And when it comes to these characters, it's all about the little details.

    It's not a Red Herring.

This book has the Movie line up and it meant to draw in fans of the Movie, so it makes sense that they'd use Thanos.

And considering he loves Death, why wouldn't he call himself her warrior?

And going by the Article at Marvel's site, it is him.

Are we REALLY sure Avengers Assemble takes place in the 616?
Yes! It's been mentioned several times already.

Bendis said months ago that he wasn't taking an X-Book, so i don't know what the X-Fans were worrying about...

    Except it isn't just speculation.

Plus you know, it was mentioned that this arc would hint at what his next project would be and here we have Thanos.

The proof is there. Not accepting it is just denial at this point.

This is something I've noticed of Bendis the more I read of him. He relies on a lot of stock phrases and voices. Which might not be so bad except that he does this for important characters in the story. Stock phrases should be background, but he puts them in the foreground or in the dialogue of the main villains.

Dark Avengers team intro between Moonstone and Daken. Avengers team intro between Thor and Bucky Cap. That one stands out, but their are others. I don't mean to insult Bendis he's good and more often than not he's worth reading, but he reused a lot of lines between Avengers, New Avengers and Dark Avengers. It's like he really enjoyed the joke and wants to tell it again even though he knows we all already heard it.

Bendis (and all the Marvel folks) say lots of things. That doesn't mean it invariably happens.

    you are wrong.

    in Bendis books Carol has:

    Taken down nefaria
fought one on one with wonderman
was the only mortal character to nearly defeat one of the worthy with out mystical enhancements.
and in general has constantly looked good
