Fongji is trained and becomes an Iron Fist
Leonardo Davinci builds a giant telescope to locate the Phoenix

That's pretty much it.

It seems Fongji was a mute because of her pent up rage against her family, which she shows to Master Yu Ti by trying to attack him when he speaks the truth about her family. It made me feel bad for Fongji to have to live with a family like that. Later she shows she can talk, most likely due to the inner peace Master Yu Ti helped her achieve by becoming the Iron Fist. I wish the fight scene between Fongji and the dragon were shown. Unfortunately she probably won't be around anymore, because this was done in the past. The art was really nice and so was the story.

Another excellent issue of New Avengers. Fongji is the breakout character of 2012 IMO

I'd again draw peoples attention to the pages that exactly reproduce the layouts from the first issue of new Avengers:

An interesting little errr... tribute..homage..to himself?
Or something else?
Everything coming full circle on what may be his last arc?
I dunno.

I wonder if Leonardo will have something to do with mutants after this is over.

I also wonder why he was brought there, I hope it's not just to build the telescope. Apparently he's there to help destroy the Phoenix, but I don't see what he can do.

Yeah, almost a shame that she's not going to be around in the present day MU.

Though you never know. Time travel, suspended animation, etc.

This is much better than the Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and baby drama. Plus Bendis hasn't been doing his normal repetitive dialog, I almost forgot it was him writing till Leonardo asked for blood and urine.

lol, absolutely. bendis is really a good writer and it shows in this issue.

Not everyone is going to like the fact that the Avengers aren't in an Avengers book. And that's understandable.

But I think a lot of the time in Avengers-centric events, Bendis will use his Avengers books to tell side or background stories while the main event books cover what the actual Avengers are doing. We already see what Cages crew is doing in AvX... we technically don't need another books showing us that. So I sort of understand his perspective on that too.

Bottom line for me... as long as the story is good, I'm okay with an Avenger free Avengers book for an issue or two. Others obviously feel differently.
