Am I the only one who really liked Rogue in this issue? It's the only time recently that I've found her narrative dilemma compelling and true to her character. I thought it was really well-written that she's striving not to punch all the scumbag Avengers in the face now since it recalls her pre-control era - and moreso, her Brotherhood era - but that in the end she really wanted to.
"'Course you did" - best line in AvX so far. But I thought all the cast was well-written. And the Avengers were written as the entitled bunch of militaristic thugs that they are.
Obviously Frenzy was the best, though. I hope she gets a chance to beat down Avengers on the front line after this.
how did frenzy taunt him? he comes around listing all her crimes, then she does the same for him and he cries and throws a punch. i hope she crushes his goddamn throat.
So I guess she was supposed to what, just stand there and let a flaming skull guy she doesn't know just hit her?
I'm giving her credit for restraint. Hulk Clap is a definitely BTFU move As for Hellion, well it's his fault for being out there too. They both were told to stay put.
Each time the situation got deescalated an X-Man or one of their associates ramped it right back up. And that bugs me. The X-Men feel like they are coming off as incredibly selfish, putting their own needs ahead of the potential safety of the whole world. I really guess Professor X's dream really is dead.

Yep. This is just like when they set up those checkpoints in Gaza or the West Bank. Why don't the adult Palestinians set a good example for the kids and just TAKE IT when they are confined to a reservation/refugee camp simply because of their minority status and the other race wanting to ensure that they maintain control? Frenzy should know better than to provoke civil disobedience in an attempt to maintain her status as a person.
(Too current? Should we use South Africa? Can we just say that the stupid muties should understand that whatever the Avengers tell them is for their own good and they may not understand that because they're an inferior race?)
The Avenger's invaded Utopia to take Hope away without her consent. The Avenger's launched a team into space to attack the phoenix (possibly pissing it off even more) The Avenger's invaded an innocent school and tried to oppress them by making sure that they don't come to the aid of their friends.
How is it that the Avenger's are the good guys in this scenario?

This along with the fact that they follow everything Scott does unquestioningly are the problems I have with this story. I mean even the Avengers have some of their own people questioning Cap and they're trying to keep the world safe, yet the X-Men who're known for the phrase 'Protecting a world that hates and fears them' are all following him like sheep despite them having had past experiences with the Phoenix that not all of were particularly pleasant.
Holding out for a Peter/Miles team up.
