Well that is my point. It just does what it does and it just so happens that when Rachel was the host it simply didn't fuck shit up. I just used the term want because it was easier. As I said, it is a cosmic entity, the notion that it can be controlled seems naive to me. It would be like someone being possessed by God and then saying they were able to control God.

I always viewed it as Rachel was lent its power so you could say she controlled its power but she did not control the entity that was the Phoenix because it simply cannot be controlled any more than God can or any other cosmic entity.

Not when it has a host. As an entity by itself it has it's own mind. When it was bonded to Rachel it was Rachel running the show and she didn't destroy planets with it. She also willed it dormant when needed to. When Rachel was the Phoenix, she controlled it's powers and didn't mess up.

Except Rachel did control it. She actually willed it dormant even.

Hell the Phoenix couldn't even block Rachel's memories correctly because her mind was so strong!

Rogue and Frenzy were divine in this issue. I so cannot wait for the new issue. Finally my Southern Goddess cuts loose. Kick their miserable asses Rogue darling. Thank you Gage for being such an awesome writer and truly capturing Rogue's essence.

Frenzy was wonderful, because of her, this is probably the first issue of Legacy I've enjoyed in a while. It was a glimpse at the kind of book we could possibly have if it wasn't so insistant on making everything about Rogue moping around.

Mimic is entirely redundant, I hate him already. Chamber and Husk are crying out for some development and Gage went and added Mimic. Why? Remove him and add more Glob please. Loved the call back to Riot at Xavier's. I was also pleased to see the return of the Cyclops dartboard. I wonder who's winning now? I hope it's Frenzy.

It bothered me that Karma didn't get at least some wallpaper action in the meeting. I know she's not part of Legacy's cast, but she works at the JGSHL and ought to be more integrated. A brief appearance in Alpha and Omega and a minor cameo in W&tXM are appreciated, but Astonishing is unlikely to visit the school any time soon, so it's a little annoying. Perhaps she, Dani, Doug and Warlock are having a reunion and sitting AvX out completely while Amara and Roberto do the heavy lifting, as usual. Nate's not invited to anything, because nobody likes him.

It should be on the covers in place of those floating heads.

Yes, she controlled its power not it. That is not the same thing. The fact is we don't know much at all about the Phoenix. It is 15 billion years old. Just because we have seen it 4 or 5 times lend its power to someone doesn't mean that the host can in fact control it.

I don't read X-Men legacy but decided to get this issue because I heard Kitty had a great moment. But while looking through it I wondered is the art actually made to be likable?

I didn't know what to say when I first saw Broo.

She can never decide anything by herself and always constantly needs justification from someone else. Is that the essence you're referring to?

Willed it dormant or just it's power? Again, I would make a distinction. If God wants to control you God will. If God wants to lend you God's power God will. I simply find it odd that a cosmic entity that is the source of all psionic energy and presumably the spark of creation can be controlled. That seems like an illusion. You can control the power it has given but only to the extent that it allows it IMO.

Again, I get what you are saying and how the story was protrayed, just don't think what we have seen thus far is the PF trying to control or possess someone. What we have seen is the PF lending someone its power and the struggle depicted is that of controlling the power not the entity.
