A realistic, logical action that the Avengers could have, nay, SHOULD have taken, would be to consult with the individuals who have the most experience with the Phoenix (i.e. Cyclops, Rachel, Emma, etc.) and then work alongside them with whatever plan they find most reasonable. Instead, they show up with a Helicarrier full of Avengers and fighter jets and lay siege to an island containing some of the last remaining mutants. It was a show of force from the get-go.
And the Avengers aren't persecuting mutants? What drugs are you on? They've detained Utopia's students in case of what they might do. They've placed the JGS under surveillance in case of what they might do. The whole things reeks of racial profiling. It's gross.
he and the x-men are risking the world as they (as Evrey one is constantly screaming) are the experts on the Pheniox but they arent trying to do anything to stop its progress, they are risking the world on the absurd idea that hope M I G H T be able to control it and rebirth there species. and in scotts own words from the 1st issue the firebird would give him the power to make the world right again Who the hell gave him the right to say if the world is right or not!
I love that Hellion's entire character is now ''The douche who always makes an ass of himself''
Like, that's literally all he does. Every line of dialogue.
i can appreatiate how strongly this is questionable with detaining the students for what they might do. but if they didnt and say one of them goes and blows up a public bus killing 40 people that would then be just as much there fault for not acting to prevent it as it was the person who commited the act
He was speculating and bringing it up to the rest of the X-Men. Nothing was concluded because the Avengers came over and started to wave their power around. And as the Phoenix experts they are, they know that is very unlikely that earth is in danger.
Also, there's the part where everyone forgets that Cable told Scott if the Avengers get Hope they get an apocalyptic future. So if anything Scott is saving the world from destruction from his perspective as well, so your point kind of fall flat here.
