Widow actress Scarlett Johansson backed up Whedon while Samuel Jackson made hilarious reference to The Pro [a super-powered female prostitute]. Given Whedon's pedigree I'd say it's very likely indeed that we'll see more women on the team and in terms of options, the leading candidates would presumably be The Wasp, Ms. Marvel, or Scarlet Witch, who can be used as long as there's no mention of mutants, Magneto or the X-Men. Perhaps Whedon and Feige will add Mockingbird and have a love triangle with Hawkeye and Widow? Of course, this all means nothing if Whedon doesn't return for a sequel. There's currently no deal in place for him to helm another Marvel film.

There's more at EW, including more from Samuel Jackson on the merits of The Pro.
Why not bring in Tigra or even Hellcat, make a lesser known heroine into the spotlight...

I mean how many people before the movies or the animated series knew of the Black Widow outside of the comics ?

it'll be Carol Danvers, if anyone. she's the one with the new series.

thing of it is. Pym's a package deal with jan. there's no non-awkward way to introduce one without the other. so it all comes down to whether they want to introduce the Wasp. if they think it won't work onscreen, they'll just divvy up Pym's responsibilities to other people. they have plenty of brain power on the team, already. Stark's foray into artificial intelligence (and robotics) was mentioned in Iron Man 1. J.A.R.V.I.S is, arguably, just as advanced as anything we'd see from Pym that's not an outright lab accident. instability issues are covered by Banner. there's definately room for more females. but i just doubt that the spot is reserved for Janet. their claim to fame was in being founding avengers. that has been taken from them.

Even if that turned out true, then how can they even do the origin of Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel, when the Kree race was actually introduced in Fantastic Four ?

Tigra would be kinda hard effects wise. Remember Beast in X-Men First class? I burst out laughing when I saw him.

Expanding on Coulson as the Vision- What if Coulson was a high order LMD? (first seen in the Cap movie as the "artificial man")

I agree Ant-Man and Wasp need to be in the sequel, the visuals alone would be stunning. This could lead to the creation of Ultron, Ultron could then go nuts and steal Coulson's "body" from SHIELD and create the create the Vision.

If Coulson is actually the original "artificial man" seen in Cap that may explain his admiration for Cap as he was an artificial intellegence created in world war two and would have viewed Cap as a role model.

Another nice twist would be that Ultron is actually the latest and greatest LMD deveploped by Pym and Stark made to be more resilient than Coulson to deal with the larger scale threats SHIELD was now facing. Ultron turns the tables on SHIELD by sending the intangable Vision to destroy the Avengers rendering all their defences useless. The only thing that saves the day is Coulson's love of heroism comes to the fore and he turns on and defeats Ultron. Of course Ultron escapes in some cyber form and continues to be a threat for future movies.

Pym goes too far with AI and ends up creating Ultron an AI who is actually crazy (daddy issues), Coulson/Vision being an earlier model has emotions but they are far more subdued. A nice after credits scene would be Wanda and Pietro showing up with a nice little moment between Coulson/Vision and Wanda.

With the great job Joss Whedon did on Avengers and Marvel as whole with their movies the sky is the limit for great stories!

It's been stated in interviews that the Jessica Jones show at least would be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with crossovers and connections being made between the show and the films (mentions of Stark Industries/shots of the tower, etc.). It could definitely be a good place to establish characters like Luke and Carol for appearances in the films, though with the tone of that show it's doubtful that we'd really see them using their powers much.

Well, there goes one series down the drain and a few more left to shine.
