Looking for a Lucky Luke-style pirate comic book

Hi, do any of you recognise this pirate comic book by description? It is drawn in a style not dissimilar to Lucky Luke, its story is about pirates and on the last page the pirate crew is captured and made prisoners by the British redcoats. I read it, or rather admired the pictures, at a colleague of my child minder when I was about 4-6 years old, and I remember the album very well. I think I received it as a gift from this child minder some sixteen years ago, which made me happy indeed, but I have not yet found the comic book. The way ships are drawn is realistic and not simplistic akin to Professor Balthazar cartoons, and I was most impressed by some of the drawings in the comic book.

After an hour's worth of Google searching I've not even identified the title of the comic book. Can you please help me find it?

Do any of you know of an exhaustive list of Franco-Belgian comic books published the last 50 years or so? Searches on Google, Amazon and Wikipedia have given nothing.

Well, this won't be exhaustive but I use http://www.bedetheque.com/ as my first port-of-call when I'm trying to find something out about European books. There's also http://bdoubliees.com/index.html which will allow you to focus on the weeklies and see if they turn anything up for you.

Actually, the style of Redbeard is much more realistic than Lucky Luke, so I guess it can't be. But here's a list of 215 comics about pirates, most of them with pictures, so maybe it can be found in it:

BTW, Redbeard is possibly the best pirate comic ever made, at least while Charlier was style writing it. After his death it became a shadow of its former glory, but the first 25 albums or so are one of the best adventure series ever published in France.

There was a Cursed Pirate Girl short story in the Mouse Guard FCBD hardcover that amused me.
