SPIDER-MAN and NERO prologue
Spider-Man had, with the help of his allies, just managed to overcome Doctor Doom on Battleworld, who had given himself the reality-warping powers of the Beyonder. Just before the cosmic being sent everyone home, however, Spidey suddenly faded out of existence, finding himself in the hall of a spacious mansion, with numerous people he did or didn't recognize, including, among others, the X-Man Rogue, Betty Brant, and....... Aunt May?!
"Just what the heck's going on here? Where am I? Oh great, don't tell me I'm in another massive battle for the fate of humanity! Seriously, I just finished the last one!"
Then he laid eyes on the serial killer Carnage, and his survival instincts went into overdrive. After a few seconds, however, it seemed that everyone was just talking for the moment. Deciding that going to Aunt May first could compromise a clue to his identity, he instead went over to the alluring X-Man.
"Hey there Rogue, haven't seen you in a while."
___________
Meanwhile, three universes to the left....
Nero, a descendant of the Dark Knight Sparda, had just pummeled the False Savior's house-sized face into gravel, and Dante had allowed him to keep the demonic sword Yamato as a gift. Turning towards Kyrie with a smile, the white-headed devil slayer gave his childhood friend - and, more recently, his girlfriend - a soft smile, walking towards her.
When a group of clown devils suddenly appeared, Nero's face contorted into a fierce snarl as he revved up the Red Queen and started tearing them apart, before shooting one with a charged shot from his twin-barrelled handgun, Blue Rose. One got too close to Kyrie, so he gripped it with his Devil Bringer arm from over twenty feet away and effortlessly pulled it towards him before swinging the weak devil around and hurling it into the sky.
However, time seemed to freeze in place as he faded out of existence, and as a feeling of sudden emptiness overcame him, Nero tried to reach out for the girl, shouting, "KYRIE!"
He next found himself in a spacious mansion, surrounded by several other people - some of whom seemed to be demonic in nature. However, that wasn't his concern at the moment. His Devil Bringer glowing ominously, Nero turned to the guy who looked like he was in charge and roared, "Somebody better explain to me just what the fuck is going on here! NOW!!"
Spider-Man turned to him and said, "While I'm confused too, pallie, there's really no need for that kind of language, is there?"

“The megalomaniac automaton is of no consequence.” Jedah would reply to the boy. “Though he is powerful he too must bend to the whims of the Traitor Game.” Then a new challanger appears.
“You are in a Traitor Game, tasked with stopping a Chaos Lord from taking over the known universe. You may calm yourself, nobody here can harm you.”
Mega Man, despite feeling weird around the guy would trust him on what he said...for now
"Long as he's kept in check" mega man told him

Nero, not calming in the slightest, yelled, "This isn't FUCKING about me, damnit! If you want me to help save reality or whatever, fine, but not now! Kyrie's in danger right now, send me back to save her first!"Jedah: “You are in a Traitor Game, tasked with stopping a Chaos Lord from taking over the known universe. You may calm yourself, nobody here can harm you.”
Spider-Man turned Nero to face him and asked, "Kid, just calm down! Look, I'm guessing you care a lot about this Kyrie person, whoever she is, but is she really more important to you than the entire universe?"
Nero: "Hell yes she is!"
It seemed as if Nero was about to start a brawl unless someone got through to him quickly....
OOC: Nero swears a lot, lol.
{Music: 'Congratulations, Everybody!'}
"I'm Lotta Hart, but y'all can call me Lotta. I'm an investigative photographer. I've seen some crazy stuff, but this place is mighty weird even by my standards."
{Music: Dan Hibiki's theme. Personally, my favorite is the Street Fighter Alpha 3 version}
"I know how you feel. Ms. Lotta Hart and I were witnesses at a trial before we were brought here." Betty replied. "My employer is standing trial for a crime I know he couldn't have committed. I'm just glad I got to testify before I was taken, and my testimony didn't hurt our case. But I'd still like to know just what's happening over there..."
-------------
-------Shortly after Betty Brant and Lotta Hart disappeared from the courthouse, Franziska von Karma called for the next witness. However, a bailiff arrived with disturbing news.
{Music: 'Suspense', Ace Attorney}
Bailiff: "We can't find Ms. Lotta Hart anywhere!"
Judge: (surprised) "WHAAAAT????"
Phoenix: (surprised) "WHAAAT?"
Franziska: (glares angrily)
Bailiff: "Ms. Hart and the previous witness ... they've vanished!"
Franziska: "This is unacceptable! Search the courthouse! No witnesses should be allowed to leave until I have a chance to call them!"
There was a great deal of commotion from the gallery, before the Judge banged his gavel.
Judge: "Ahem... in light of present circumstances, this court will now take a 30 minute recess."
(30 minutes later)
{Music: Any Trial music will do}
Franziska: "Your Honor, we have found no trace of Ms. Lotta Hart or Ms. Elizabeth Brant in the courthouse. However, the prosecution has found the evidence Ms. Lotta Hart was to present. And we have found an alternate witness to testify in her place. The prosecution now calls Mr. Spark Brushel to the stand."
{Music: 'Eccentric - 2007'}
Franziska: "Witness, please state your name and occupation."
Brushel: "The name's Brushel. Spark Brushel. I'm a freelance journalist. I was attending the press expo when it happened. 'Intrepid Journalist Spark Brushel Catches Murderous Publisher in the Act', end quote."
Franziska: "Please testify to the court what you saw, and what your absent colleague Ms. Lotta Hart shared with you."
Brushel: "Hey, wait a minute! I know you! 'Manfred von Karma's Daughter Lacks Self-Confidence. Carries Whip Wherever She Goes", end quote. 'Prosecutor Franziska Von Karma rumored to moonlight as a dom --"
WHIP-CRACK!
Brushel: YEOW!
Franziska: "Let me supply an alternate headline for you, Mr. Spark Brushel. 'Foolishly foolish fool of a foolish journalist foolishly insults prosecutor; recieves a whipping', end quote."
Franziska: "Give your testimony to the court. Now!"
Back at Spencer Mansion
Lotta Hart overheard Betty's conversion. "Knowin' how trials go there, it's probably gettin' a bit crazy over there. But not as crazy as this place. I got a few questions I'd like ta ask that Jedah feller."

"Spider-Man?" Betty asked. "I'm glad you're here! There's so much I need to tell you!"
She didn't know where to begin. "My boss ... J. Jonah Jameson. He's been accused of murdering a Spider-Man impersonator. I was forced to testify at his trial before being summoned here. But that's not the worst of it. We've all been summoned here because a Chaos Lord is threatening the universe. And now we're here, along with Ultron ... and Carnage. You've stopped Carnage before. I know you can do it again."
Lotta Hart spoke up. "Hey, what's the big idea summonin' those bad folks here along with us? That evil robot, that red guy, and those other folks? How do ya expect them to help fight against this Chaos Lord of yers?"
Betty Brant was about to join in with further points, but she stopped when she noticed someone for the first time.
{Music: 'Reminiscence - What The Others Have Seen'}
At the sight of Aunt May, Betty turned pale. "It can't be..." she said.
Lotta noticed Betty's reaction. "Hey, City Gal! What's the matter? Ya look like you've seen a ghost or somethin'!"
"I ... think I have." Betty said hesitantly. "That old woman ... I know her. She's the aunt of a friend from the Bugle. But ..."
Betty lowered her voice. "She passed away a few months ago. I attended her funeral. Poor Peter ... she was like a mother to him. I know losing her was terrible for him. But that was just the beginning.... never mind."
"Hey, that Jedah feller was talkin' about parallel universes or somethin'. He says that's why there's two fellers callin' themselves Mega Man here." Lotta noted. "Maybe that's what's goin' on here. Ya can't even be sure if the Spider-Man ya spoke with is the one from yer world, either. Maybe ya shouldn't talk about what's been goin' on back home just ta avoid confusin' anybody."
Betty nodded. "I suppose you're right. We should focus more on what is happening now, anyway."
OOC: This version of Betty Brant is taken from shortly after the 'Hobgoblin Lives' mini-series.

Aunt May fixed an expressionless stare on her. Then she walked over. "Oh hello, dear! I'm sorry - I couldn't help overhearing...did you say you worked at The Bugle? My Peter is their star photographer! Why he's just marvelous! I wonder if you wouldn't put in a word with the editor, Mr. Jameson....my Peter works SO hard, it's very unfair that he's not paid more..."
To herself, "Aunt May" thought 'although this human recognizes the host, there is no need to slay her - yet. Others here are more of a threat to my secret. Play along for now.'
“Her life does not matter, for if we don't succeed here her life as well as everyone else's lives will be forfeit.”
“Everyone has their role in this game.” Jedah replied as he turned his attention towards Lotta. “Be they base villains or so called noble heroes. I am also sure of the fact that they do not want to see their life be lost to the Chaos Lord.”
"I will when I get the chance." Betty replied. "You are right about Peter. He works so hard, and risks his life taking photos of Spider-Man fighting super-villains. He's been through a lot, and he deserves more than what Jameson gives him."
Betty was not sure what else to say. She was afraid of confusing May Parker by mentioning things that had not happened on the world this version of Peter's aunt came from. "But there's still hope. Jameson can be a rough boss at times, but he has his softer side. With all that's happened, he might give Peter a raise after all."
