Default Owlman of the Crime Syndicate and the Court of Owls...

One of the sets of characters that I have always been interested in has been the Earth 3 set of Crime Syndicate villains. I always wondered what drove the Owlman character to adopt an owl as his symbol rather than a bat (which would seem naturally more dark and evil than an owl.) Now however after reading the Court of Owls storyline going on, it gives a bit more depth to that character's potential back story and position in his life.

I'm always excited to see these characters show up and have been hoping to see them eventually with this "new" bunch of characters and how they would all react. Now I'm especially excited to see the reaction between Batman and Owlman.

I think if DC does an Earth Three/Crime Syndicate book, that would be cool to make Owlman a member of the Court.

I've said this before, but basically, Earth-3 should have a Court of Bats.

That would be pretty awesome. They'd need their a scary nursery rhyme of their own.

I think that hypothetic Court of Bats would be an ancient and secret organization that consist of very rich people that wants the greater good for E-3 Gotham in contrast with the evil Court of Owls.

Or just borrow from Lewis Carroll: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat, how I wonder what you're at. Up above the world you fly, like a teatray in the sky."

Beware the court of bats, that watches all the time, ruling Gotham from a shadow cave, under granite and lime. They watch you at your hearth, they watch you in your bed, speak not a whispered word of them or they'll send the claw for your head. Unless it's raining.

I was thinking of this myself. Maybe on Earth 3, Owl-Man is the champion of the Court of Owls. Perhaps they had a hand in training him and whatnot. Whereas Bruce Wayne goes it alone as Batman, Owl-Man was recruited by the Court of Owls.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Owlman was chosen and trained, not necessarily coming to his identity because a owl flew into his living room or whatever his was. But in that he was trained...perhaps even took over the court (would add a little bit more ruthlessness to the character.)

I also like the idea of a Court of Bats secretly working for the good of the city but never really getting that far.

What would you call the agents of the Court of Bats? Fangs?
