Default Scoobies & Fang Gang Vs Loki & Chitauri Invasion

Let's say the Loki/Chitauri scenario happens in the Buffyverse. A composite Buffyverse where all members of the Scoobies and Fang Gang, and those who have fought alongside them, are alive at the same time (TV series only). Those members are:

    Buffy Summers
    Faith Lehane
    Spike
    Angel
    Rupert Giles
    Willow Rosenberg
    Tara Maclay
    Wesley Wyndham-Pryce
    Illyria
    Connor
    Charles Gunn
    Anya
    Xander Harris
    Riley Finn
    Dawn Summers
    Kennedy
    Daniel "Oz" Osbourne
    Cordelia Chase
    Lorne
    Allen Francis Doyle
    Principal Robin Wood
    Lindsay McDonald
    Andrew Wells
    The Buffybot

They're forced to join forces in New York as the only legitimate defence against the invasion.

With the same kind of build up as the Avengers movie (so they know what's going to happen), can they prepare for the invasion and stop it? They can call in any help they would have available to them (for example the Initiative, Devon Coven, Wolfram and Hart, Gunn's gang etc - assuming they would all be willing to help).

Notes: Spike and Angel are both ensouled, they both have Gems of Amara to negate their vampire weaknesses (most importantly to sunlight), Buffy has her slayer scythe, Illyria still has her time powers (as displayed on TV only) and other team members have weapons of their own choosing.

Have they got enough going for them to stop the invasion and defeat Loki?

I've watched all of Buffy and a little Angel, but it was all once and quite a while ago. I don't remember them taking on things like the giant snake ships and I'm dubious of their ability to even damage them. I don't see how they'd save themselves from the nuke, let alone redirecting it into the alternate dimension. I also don't remember any real fliers, so they are going to have serious problems getting close enough to do anything.

On the other side of the coin, how big an area can Illyria affect with her time powers, and what exactly can she do? If she stops/slows the entire city, will her allies be equally affected? And what happens when more things arrive in the area - are they affected by the existing stop/slow?

Well the Mayor was virtually a snake-ship on his own.

Oh yeah, kinda forgot about him. IIRC, he wasn't nearly as heavily armored, and he didn't fly, did he?

He was big, but he wasn't as big as those Chitauri things.

As for Illyria's timestop... kinda hard to say. When she kicked Angel out of Wolfram and Hart's window from a non-specific (but very high) floor, her timestop was in effect all the way down to ground level. So it certainly works in a fairly wide range.

Couldn't possibly say if it was city-wide, however.

What seemed to be the case, though, was that those near her whom she brings in to it simply moved faster than everything else.

That will certainly let them clean up on ground troops, then. I still don't see how they are going to scratch the big guys, nor how they are going to redirect the nuke, and it MAY leave them vulnerable to long-range bombardment by countless fast-movers with pretty potent ranged weapons. And god/allah/ganesha help them if those capitol ships make it through the gateway.

Seeing how this takes place in the Buffyverse, if magic is still accessible, I would expect Tara, Willow, Giles, and Wesley to just dump the Chitauri into a hell dimension or at least back through the portal.

Do they have feats for dumping an invasion force of thousands (at least) of units, including 350 foot long flying monsters, anywhere?

I do not believe so. Not from my spotty recall of S1-S7 of Buffy or S1-S4 of Angel.

About their only chance is if Anya has wish granting powers and they wish away the invaders.

Don't know what I was thinking with that post. Willow is the only one with that much power and that's debatable (and it would take a lot of prep for the others even if they did). Illyria might be able open ways to other dimensions, but I cant recall any concrete feats. Anya with her full powers would be that only way something like that would work.
