If Whedon publically stated that he isn't going to touch Wonder Man, honestly I think that's kinda wrong.
It's fine if he doesn't want to use the character, but there's no reason to spell it out. Everyone is someone's favorite character... and I feel a little put off that he'd go out of his way to say he's going going to use a guy I personally like. Ah well.
Thanks to those hordes of mentally challenged readers these movies supposedly draw in...
I can just imagine the poor guy who walks into a comic shop after seeing West Coast Avengers: The Movie and can't figure out why the guy in the film didn't wear star-spangled panties and a tiara.
It's been just over a year since this thread iwa active but last month cinemablend.com speculated that Marvel could be laying the groundwork for the WCA movie and even mentions this thread.

Johnny Storm was dead; who is this resurrected Johnny Storm?
"Here, hold my Annihilus…" Johnny Storm, Fantastic Four #601
lol Tigra in a movie would be a mess.
Wanda Maximoff is a joke!

After seeing Iron man 3, which I loved and the way both the story unfolded as well as the appearance of a certain character in the end sequence (also the fact that RD Jr has since intimated that he is done with the Iron man franchise). I predict the next Avengers movie will have Hulk, Iron Patriot/war Machine, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Thor, Captain America and Black Widow.
I don't know if there is another Hulk movie slated, but if there is, the Hulk may not appear in the Avengers movie
Hawkeye may be the nominal leader, or maybe setting the scene for another character. I don't think Iron Man will be in the next Avengers movie unless they offer him a lot of money and given the way he was the lead in the last film, I can see the studio giving other actors more of a lead.
The marvel film universe seems to be mixing elements of classic Marvel and ultimate Marvel, so maybe they will have a mix of West Coast Avengers in the next film. I have been pleasantly surprised with the way Marvel have been making their live action films, enough surprises to keep the most hardened fans guessing.
I'd be up for it, but only if they use Mockingbird and hopefully Tigra as well. Plus, Bobbi could be introduced easily, she's a good character, and there'd be no excuse not to use her, other than laziness.
Bobbi Morse: has been on three Avengers teams, worked for SHIELD, evaded the Skrulls for years, received the super soldier serum and Infinity Formula. Still not even a limited series.
I see no reason not to use Tigra well scratch that lets see how a certain talking raccoon and a walking tree do first.
Wonder Man though is a no go without a name change. He just gets overshadowed by Wonder Woman.
Also I doubt they call it West Coast Avengers, Mighty Avengers is a possible title though

Black History Month & 29 Days in February
A spin-off but maybe around Phase 5/6 if it goes that far.

WCA? Not likely. Movie Hawkeye is not a team leader, for starters. And none of the other Avengers are movie-Avengers so it'd be the least developed Avengers movie character + a bunch of nobodies with weird origin stories (cat people???)...
What I think IS a possibility is a Kooky Quartet (slightly modified maybe, for example, Kooky Quartet + Pyms/Widow/Hulk) movie. If (when) Iron Man retires, the Pyms and Maximoffs would be the "junior" heroes taking over.
my idea for Simon is to have him be a paralyzed former Olympian. he gets involved with [insert villain] because of the promise of mobility. and he woudn't be called "Wonder Man." it'd be something like Simon Williams the Ionic Man.
