Default Do all Batman Fans feel the same way about the Avengers?

i read in facebook, imdb, and other boards where fans of TDKR seem rather upset about the cash cow TA have become. So Im wonderin. Do most of you feel overwhelm by how movie goes (not fans) will come to appreciate the avengers more than Batman?

also whats the appeal with Anne Hatway?

People who aren't idiots will recognize that there is room for both The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, and that despite their comic book origins they are incredibly different and equally valid movies that represent two very effective ways of adapting superheroes to the big screen.

No because movie fans and my taste are 50/50 on what we mutually like, been a long Batfan and haven't picked up a Avenger book until a couple years ago and the one thing both Nolan's films and Avengers and the movies leading up to it have done is RAISE THE BAR ON MAKING GOOD COMIC BOOK MOVIES which means we get good movies and not some bs

    and this

When it comes to which movie had me grinning ear to ear with nerdgastic glee at seeing some of my favorite characters on a big screen in a film that actually felt like a comic book come to life I think Avengers nailed that. But DKR is going to hit an entirely different note for me. It will resonate in a different way and I will likely love the movie for what it is, but I see no reason the two should be compared their very different on a creative level and have an equal if different appeal for me.

Heck, even a Justice League movie would likely carry a different appeal to an Avengers movie. The thing I love about good superhero movies is that when their done right each one can feel completely different to another, and each has it's own merit.

Controversial statement, while looks are subjective surely most would not hold her up on any sort of pedestal when it comes to acting. She is dire. However I hope she can do a good job in TDKR (I will pass judement after I see her and anyway the devil wears prada was such a difficult role to portray well so that wouldnt be fair to hold against her....). Scarlet hardly set the bar high in the avengers and was fine all because of one well placed camera.

As for TDKR v The Avengers debate I have grown bored of it. There is room for both films this summer.

Big congrats to Marvel for The Avengers being such a big success but the popularity contest between it and The Dark Knight Rises doesn't mean a whole lot to me.

More of my friends have seen Transformers than Raging Bull but that sure as hell doesn't mean the latter is better. More people watch The Big Bang Theory than Community, same thing there.

I just want a quality movie. If people don't see it, it's their loss. Having said that, the chances of The Dark Knight Rises making well over $500,000,000 and probably closer to $800,000,000 if not over are very good. It's going to do amazing business.

I love marvel movies but hate marvel comics. And it's pretty much vice versa for dc. The only the that bugs me about movie only fans is when they try to do "batman's" voice. And that's just cause im tired of it. (P.s. when i say i hate mavel comics that of course does not apply to any book with a healthy dose of nightcrawler! He's great!)(is he still dead, or have they brought him back yet?)

I find the Bat-voice funny when used in the most inappropriate of times.

And there is A Nightcrawler in Uncanny X-Force currently, but he's a little more...hardcore than 616 Kurt.

I also don't really understand what's up with this movie rivalry. It's really ridiculous. I'm pretty sure everyone has conceded that TDKR will have a better story than Avengers, and maybe better characterization due to a much tighter cast. But I don't think that it's going to be as fun. That doesn't really matter though. As has been said they're two very different kinds of product. This is like comparing orange juice to orange soda.

The whole conversation is moot, but honestly the Avengers will make more than TDKR in the long run because of the 3D ticket sales. Who gives a crap though as long as they're both damn good movies (which looks to be the case), I am excited.

Avengers might make more money, but TDKR will probably have the better story.

I don't see why anyone would actually care. As a comic book fan, I'm happy that both were done well and have proven successful.

I don't really want too much gratuitous T & A in the movie unless it definitely serves the plot.
