I don't know to whom you're speaking in the quote above. Remember that I'm the one who said early on that I wasn't interested in critiquing Boxer, but in sussing out divergent, positive views of Kirby.

    "I'm a guy/girl, so of course I like/don't like such-and-such"

Hmm. Perhaps you're right. It might just be teaching me there are individuals I wish would not be able to speak about things in general.

In a sense though you've just proved what I wrote before I saw your post: it's OK for her to say it, but if I say it, it's supposedly offensive.
It's not about offense. It's just that all the "Female takes on Jack Kirby" title as well as the phrase "woman type female fans" plus the "double X chromersomers" sounds stupid. If you only did it once it wouldn't sound so dumb. Combined? Well it makes you sound like you got a few screws loose.

I'm talking to you- you're the benighted chappie who called this thread "Female takes on etc". If you're not interested in critiquing her why do you care about her gender or the gender of the respondents in this thread?

I can ask for opposing takes in a general sense without asking for critiques of a specific person. Duh.

I knew there was a reason I didn't want to put this in Community.

Since you're decided to become insulting, why don't you go ahead and lock the thread now, since it's clear that's the way this argument is tending.

I thought, as an individual who also happens to have an XY Chromosome, that this debate was trending the way of someone embarrassing themselves in trying to defend Jack Kirby art, by trying to assign motives that were very likely not there for someone with a XX Chromosome who didn't respond the same way to his art as her son, and then not wanting to back out of that premise when others noticed the fallacy in the OP argument.

But perhaps the part about the great debate not going anywhere is accurate, at least.

You can certainly ask for discussion in a general sense. But the reason that isn't going to happen here is that when you started the thread, you assumed Boxer was speaking strictly from a woman's or from a feminist perspective. Now whether you care about Boxer or not, it ought to be prety clear that in this context she was not doing so. So given this, what prompted you to think of her opinion as a "female" opinion and then seek discussion of other "female" opinions?

Some of us females - God knows we hate the word "women" - would like to know.

You could have come up with opposing takes just by thinking about it instead of referring to women as cattle.

Wait... so this thread is only meant to include women who want to gush about their love of Kirby? And anyone who supports Boxer's right to an opinion might not want to contribute to the discussion, and are misunderstanding its purpose?

Sorry, I misunderstood, it seems. I'll just keep posting Kirby art so it can be discussed.
