I used X-Factor to do the estimates again as it is usually most steady. It may be slightly off but not by much.

Interestingly quite a few Marvel comics have taken a slight upturn. This seems to be due to popular Avengers variants...http://marvel.com/news/story/17985/s...ation_variants

Interesting that AVX has already dropped 30% of orders unlike Justice League which is more than the 2nd issue of Justice League dropped. Considering the first issue sold less as well if it follows a similar pattern it could well be selling less than Justice League by #6.

I'm not sure we will see the Versus series in the top 10 next month either. With two issues of AvX, Batman Inc, Batman Annual and Earth 2 most likely knocking that and Dark Knight out of the top ten.

My bets for next months top ten........

    AvX
    AVX
    Batman
    Justice League
    Batman Annual
    Batman Inc
    Green Lantern
    Action Comics
    Detective Comics
    Earth 2

I doubt Marvel will get more than 2 spots of the Top Ten now until after AvX is over, especially with Before Watchmen.

Incredibly cunning plotting, showing the estimated sales figures and making predictions based on sales patterns. I doubt I'm wrong though but time will tell.

I don't see any coherent reasoning behind any of your predictions.

Which part. That AVX will be selling less than Justice League by the time it hits #6?

Well it dropped 30% of it's #1 orders already which is more than Justice League lost on it's second issue so if the trend follows it will sell less then JL by #6.

As for the chart going by what DC have said about the sales on Batman Inc and Earth 2 indicates they will chart in the Top Ten pushing out the AvX tie ins which probably won't increase in sales as the event continues. That leave Versus which debuted at just over 100k. If It only loses 30% of its readership by the 2nd issue like AvX it still puts it below Dark Knight returns, which itself probably won't hit the Top Ten unless it get's a big boost from the Owl crossover.

So assuming the AvX titles and tie ins don't go against the grain and start increasing massively in sales, the only big launch Marvel have so far up until at least July is Spider-Men. So the first issue of that may hit the top ten but with the exception of the Ultron War getting released before October I think Marvel will be struggling to get any more than 3 titles in the chart before then.

But I could be wrong and all these 2nd print runs for AvX stuff could be huge throwing my theory off.

    My thoughts exactly.

Either way, it's good to see the X- titles and the Avengers in the top 10 again.

It also seems that Marvel have experienced an upturn in sales on a number of titles, I guess big events do that.

You can't really say the first issue sold less just yet. AVX 1 is actually ahead of where Justice League was in the second month(assuming comichron's numbers are accurate). It is still being reordered according to both diamond and BC. It may not beat JL in the long run or it might. I just don't think you can claim victory just yet.

Assuming Bleeding Cool is correct, AVX 4 is selling more than 3. That is a great sign for the series.

Good to see that Age of Apocalypse is doing pretty well.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.

    Exactly.

I also wanted to point out that re-order activity (according to Bleeding Cool) has been extremely high for AVX.

I had this argument months ago regarding the JL comparison and I stated (correctly I might add) that AVX issue 1 would appear in subsequent months sales charts because of the strong re-order activity (and it was solicited for April) AVX is sales beast, theres no getting around it. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but I guess the general comic audience love their superhero squabbles (not to mention the fact that it's an Avengers dominated world right now).

On an unrelated note, it's good to see the new Marvel titles like Scarlet Spider and Age of Apocalypse doing well. It's always good to see quality do well.
