    And boom goes the dynamite.
I'm really REALLY happy that the Avengers did so well, both for the comic genre as a whole as well as for Joss Whedon. I mean, come on, he's Joss Whedon. Who didn't want this movie to be a success?
I enjoyed the hell out of the movie, too. Of course, there was no way i wasn't going to. Again, it's Joss M-Effing Whedon! I just really hope this success will lead to better stuff for the industry as a whole.

Don't you mean "in ITS North American debut," CBR? C'mon, you're supposed to be journalists.

    1. They're not journalists, they're a PR machine; and 2. what's wrong with the headline? I'm kind of in a post-lunch stupor, so I'm not seeing what's wrong. ITS is the possessive term.

I guess they fixed the headline, but the typo is still visible in the forum post: "...predicting how much Marvel Studios' "The Avengers" would earn in it's North American opening weekend."

Disney's purchase of Marvel a couple of years ago is likely making the Disney board quite happy right about now. Just 3 years into the deal and the handful of movies they've released so far have grossed roughly half of the purchase price for Marvel. So far. And that is barely scratching the surface of the number of properties Marvel has left to exploit. Yes, several men in nice and expensive suits are having a very good Monday.
