New Ultimate X-Men Costumes + Small Interview

The rumors (speculation is a more accurate word, really) of a new Ultimate Fantastic Four book go all the way back to Ultimate Doomsday, with the reintroduction of Mahr Vehl, Nova finally being used in a proper story, Thing losing his rocks, the Sue/Ben relationship being developed, and Reed switching sides. It's a shame it didn't happen then, because it was such a logical choice. There were story lines that easily could have spun out of that book, and all the characters were in the right place. With Johnny as part of the Amazing Friends in Ultimate Spider-man and Reed being a bad guy, there were four characters - Ben, Sue, Nova, and Mahr Vehl - who had all had a unifying experience with ties to science.

If a Fantastic Four book didn't come from that, I'm not sure that it ever will. It makes me sad just thinking at how great it could have been. The Fantastic Four joining in the fight against the Children and the People, possibly written by Hickman... why didn't this happen? I really think it would have if they hadn't decided to kill of Peter.

Marvel should just publish Ultimate Fantastic One. It'd be a book about Captain Marvel flying around beating the piss out any and everybody. Seriously though, bring him back. Written by Warren Ellis plz.

Also I don't know what everyone's deal with Bobby's new look is. He looks super cool and practical. Maybe he wants to have shoes so his feet will be protected when he de-frosts? Plus, he'd probably look off balance with black hat, gloves and shorts and then bare feet. As a design choice it makes sense to me. Regardless, he looks super awesome. I hope he keeps that mean looking mouthless-face.

It feels to me like they really don't know what to do with this book and these characters, first we get covers showing revamped X-uniforms now a few issues in everyone's getting a redesign already that look nothing like the previous ones shown that never made it in the actual book, I'm confused to be honest, what's going to happen with Storm and Colossus? Out of all of them I like Bobby's best he looks like a younger AoA Iceman, Kittys is ok but I would of liked it more if it were the colors of the old X-Men the other two don't do anything for me.

^ I think 'they' do know what they're doing because it's their job, Brian Wood's a talented writer and there has been a lot of great stuff set up. I expect something along the lines of DWF, bring in new mutants, have an arc featured in Tian, eventually merge Kitty's X-Men with Jean's band of 'Runaways', then merge that team with Storm's, see what Quicksilver's new Brotherhood has been up to, now with new members such as Avalanche and Omega Red, and then reveal this 'God' that's been teased so much. Wood said that the whole God thing will be revealed later on down the line. And then we may even get a proper Ultimate Age of Apocalypse.

That was probably to boost sales for the relaunch. If they put what Jimmy actually looks like on the cover, it wouldn't have caught a new reader's eye. As far as storm and Colossus we're in the middle of their story right now, so just hold on a little bit lol.
