i think all of them did the best they could with the matrial they were given. Bana, Norton and Ruffalo are all very good actors.

Ruffalo wins, but only because Avengers is the superior film out of the three.

    Bixby of course...

I haven't seen the Avengers yet, but I have a feeling I will enjoy Mark Ruffalo. I thought Ed Norton was a really good Banner.

Eric Bana is a good actor but I wasn't crazy about the whole Banner as victim (amongst other things) in that first take on the Hulk.

I know this is going to sound like BS, but I swear it's true. Due to my friend ingratiating herself with one of Ferrigno's entourage/handlers at Wizard World Chicago a few years back, we got to have dinner with him and a bunch of assorted fans and Con employees. I didn't talk to him personally besides saying "hi" but he seemed like a really nice guy. By far, one of the weirdest nights of my life.

I like the green eyes thing, too. I was sad they didn't include them in Avengers like they had in TIH. However, the look Banner gives Widow right before he loses control and changes was heartbreaking. That was some drama.

I've hated everything he has ever worked on. It's like he has one face expression. And he's been the quintessential indie actor. And when I thought about Banner, I thought of someone very emotional and expressive like Bill Bixby so I couldn't see Ruffalo pull that off. But he was good in Avengers. I think doing a big movie and enjoy the ride has done him good, he seemed more relax. We'll see if he can pull off his own Hulk movie next.

I think the filmakers seem to have had trouble with doing the Hulk transformation on screen so far. They cannot quite match the dramatic effect of the tv show.

    is that true?
The big fight aparantly was that since Norton sort of wrote some of the stuff, there was a scene at the start of Incredible Hulk where Banner was supposed to shoot himself in the mouth with a bullet...only for Hulk to spit it out. Producers vetoed it for various reasons. One because they felt it would make people feel that Hulk/Banner is/are invincible and would have killed the drama for the rest of the film. Norton felt it was the most important scene. Hence the fight.

Ruffalo by far. I didn't like Nortons take at all. Bana is second to me. But Ruffalo nailed it, even in small doses, since he shared his screen time with the jolly green. Can't wait to see the next hulk film. Hope a good director is attached though.

have you seen primal fear? No shots at all, but check that joint out and I have a feeling it will change your perception of Ed's disappearing abilities. that being said, Norton was my least favorite banner. And I really don't like his voice.

Not a huge Hulk fan. Was dissapointed to hear they didn't keep the continuity with Norton...This last weekend I saw the Avengers.

imo Ruffalo and the Hulk stole the show.

    Ed Norton was the best.

Ruffalo was just the recipient of the best Alter ego characterization.

Hulk isnt cudly and friendly..he's a walking ATOM BOMB. like Godzilla. THE HULK is a MONSTER.

If Norton had the Avengers version CGI hulk to counter to...this poll would be oh so different. So A better question is..who was the better CGI HULK.

The Answer to that..gives you the real answer to who was the best Hulk.

Not a huge Hulk fan. Was dissapointed to hear they didn't keep the continuity with Norton...This last weekend I saw the Avengers.

They referenced HUlk destroying Harlem. SO they did keep continuity.

Ruffalo was the best one. Norton did well too. Eric Bana just didn't fit the type of person Banner is.

    Introverted, repressed, intelligent and unemotional?
I think his performance was dead on. I can't decide if I thought Bana or Ruffalo was the better Banner.
