I do think the picture's not quite complete until J M DeMatteis is involved in an anniversary project.

This is also the 25th anniversary of Kraven's Last Hunt!

3rd issue(80s era): Roger Stern; Spider-Man vs Hobgoblin

4th issue(90s era): Tom DeFalco; Spider-Man vs Venom and Carnage(Venom debuted in the 80s but was mainly used in the 90's)

    5th issue(2000 era): JMS/Bendis; Spider-Man vs Morlun

But thats definitely asking for too much and I slightly get my wish with Stern and Delfaco.
I think it would be awesome if JMS did an issue, but I think it would be difficult to do a single issue Morlun VS Spider-Man issue. The same would be true of Venom and Carnage. And the Norman Osborn Green Goblin, as he would need to remember and forget his costumed identity over the course of a 22 page story.

A Hobgoblin story with scenes in Roderick Kingsley's POV would be fantastic.

An obscure villain for JMS, but an ideal one, might be the Mechanized Man from The Twelve. In that series, he was an established villain. So it would be fun to see his debut.

Holy crap! Roger Stern AND Tom DeFalco returning to write Spider-Man?! Count me in! If they write a Hobgoblin story, I couldn't be happier!

PPTSM didn't make it to issue 156 in either volume, so I'm guessing they mean PPTSM. That means it falls during the era where Robbie Robertson got busted out of jail with Tombstone, if memory serves. 156 is the Banjo issue!

I'm really curious if these issues will reflect Peter and MJ being married or the post-OMD status quo changes.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

I'm a bit surprised that they decided that the period between Peter Parker quitting as Spider-Man and Ben Reilly taking over hasn't been explored enough, considering the filler Scarlet Spider minis.

    Maybe I'm somehow mistaken.

It would cover the pregnancy era, so maybe they're going to deal with questions about how the Clone Saga played out differently that will be relevant in the coming year.

You're definitely not mistaken about when Web 129 came out.

But you do have a good point about this being a good opportunity to show how the Clone Saga would have gone differently if MJ wasn't pregnant.

I'm pretty sure that 156.1 is Peter Parker, Spider-Man, which got to 155. Either Mr. Wacker miscounted, or he is including the Flashback issue or something.

As for the OMD status change, my guess is that they skirt around that completely.
His memory's gone! Or...is it? It's not hard to fake amnesia! The Goblin is capable of anything!

It's a series of five issues, which consists of a single issue story by Roger Stern and what seems to be two two-parters written by Tom Defalco and Stuart Moore.

It says Peter Parker Spider-Man - perhaps #156 by combining two volumes - that's what Amazing Spider-Man did to reach issue #500, rather than #59 of volume 2.
