Question What Independent comic would you like to see made into a film?

    Hello,
    I am currently looking for an independent comic to adapt into a film and although I read a lot of comics myself, I wanted to ask you, the fans;

What is your favorite independent comic book? Why?
Which independent comic would you most like to see made into a film/tv series? (could be different to your favorite)

I look forward to hearing your suggestions!

    Thanks
    Liam

What do you mean? Are you one of those film students looking to make one of those fan trailers?

    How about Jennifer Blood.

Thank you for your suggestion, I am not familiar with that comic, but I will certainly check it out. What is it about "Jennifer Blood" that you like so much?
No I am not a film student, I am an indy filmmaker working at a company that is looking into comics and graphic novels for adapting into feature length movies... not fan trailers, sorry.

Usagi Yojimbo would make a terrific series of films for someone smart enough to take it up. There are so many different storylines and groups of characters they could deliver a series of interesting and stylistically distinct features.

Jennifer Blood is a satirical take on a female version of the Punisher. Loving mother and housewife by day, murderous vigilante by night. Very funny in a twisted and violent sort of way.
But since its published by Dynamite, and creator-owned by Garth Ennis, if you're looking to acquire actual official rights, that's probably out of your league.
Though speaking of Dynamite, I'm also a big fan of Vampirella and Red Sonja.

I enjoy a lot of Zenescope's work - especially their Wonderland series. And I know for a fact they're looking for film-makers. So you could talk to them.

My dream, in an ideal world, would be for a well-made Evil Ernie/Lady Death movie. Nothing like that crappy anime or the recent re-imaginings, but a horror faithful to the original Chaos comics.

Project Superpowers or Kirby Genesis, both from Dynamite. I would love to see a Black Terror flick.

Nosferatu:Plauge Of Terror. An alternate look at the story of count orlock, seperate from dracula.( I cannot remember the publisher's name)

Bram Stoker's Death Ship (IDW) What really ahppened on the Demeter as Dracula fed. A chilling horror story done exceedingly well. ( Wouldnt require as much special effects as others , and also dracula isnt difrectly shown at any point even when he speaks at the end.)

"Chew" has limitless potential. Live action film, animated film, either one. It's just good story telling, and cool looking things. it can't fail.

Irredeemable and/or Incorruptible (could work as one film)
I like how they made the greatest hero turn to a villain and the villain try to be the hero.
