    Default Deathstroke #10 discussion

didnt saw a thread about this and well

I just read it, and its definitely bad

    and i mean really bad
I didnt liked the last issue either but it kind of got me interested where it was going with it
but this is something else entirely, this is Young Blood or Blood Strike or any of the many many clones of Young Blood created by Liefeld, its a team book and basically nothing to do with Deathstroke

the art is terrible, i generally dont really care about this kind of details but this is suppose to be an action book and its really hard to appreciate the action sequenses

the plot just went completely over my head

the first scene in the book is actually decent, it has Lobo in a random dinner eating a lt of food without paying, he steals some guy's bike and is just lobo being lobo, though he didnt flirt with the waitress so it loses points there

then we go back to Deathstroke's team, now Deathstroke is was contracted to hunt Lobo and they all go to the place where Lobo escapes from, with him is, sadly, the new Omega Men, i didnt notice this last issue cause nothing on them really look like the Omega Men cause the art suck too much, but is them, and they call themselves the Omega now, and also is Zealot, so i dont know anything about so i dont know if she is being threated right or not

so they enter the ship? where Lobo escaped and Encounter a Khund warrior, they fight and they kill him and he tells them that Lobo wants to destroy the world
    the end

if you thing im leaving something up, im really not, thats the all story, we have like 5-6 pages with Lobo, 4 pages of Deathstroke's team just checkign the place and then the rest is fight
but there is a lot of dialog, and a lot of information that ultimately serves no purpose
for example apparently Nu-Tiggor's planet was destroyed

the only thing that is completely over mind is, why does Lobo wants to destroy Earth, and How come if he was captured for so long ppl dont know that he has the means to eradicate life on Earth, or if they know, why didnt they try to do something Before he escaped

besides here is explain that Lobo used some sort of bomb to destroy his planet, i kinda of liked the take that Tony Berard had with the character on R.E.B.E.L.S, much better
It really doesnt feel right to have all of this alien characters in a Deathstroke book

    i give this a 3/10

Why are you still reading this title?

You already said you hated Deathstroke # 9. Why on earth did you pick-up # 10 then?

I think Deathstroke # 10 is alright. It's the best art Liefeld has put out in the New 52. Definitely better than Hawk and Dove. The writing wasn't bad too. I like the touch of humor in the Lobo scenes.

I'll be picking up the next issue (I'm sure you will too) to finally see the Deathstroke / Lobo encounter.

I mean you already had the same long-winded post about how you hated Deathstroke # 9... but turns out, you were secretly interested in it. You only said you were interested in it after you posted this thread about # 10 (which you're probably secretly interested in too).

Agreed. This book is terrible. My OCD compells me to buy the next issue to finish the arc, but I'm done after that. I don't think this kind of work can be redeemed.

I can only believe that this title went up in sales because of Lobo - you have to death, dumb, and blind to know this is not crapola....sorry had to get it out.

Yeah the only reason I'm picking this up is because of Lobo and he wasn't in this book nearly enough. The fight with the Khund warrior was just tedious. I'm not usually a Liefeld hater, but did you see Lobo's arm when he is shown riding the motorcycle?!?

LOBO sat a bomb to distroy HIS planet or Tiggor's planet??
Guh thats twice now with a LOBO origion rebot ant they both suck.
The orginal was the best because it displayed both LOBO's intellect and evil nature.

If your only concern is about the stupid ring why bother with this book, or with the character then?

Yeah, it was bad...the opening scene is cheesy as hell, "no one has ordered all foods in this restaurant" and all that, and I was literally laughing to death! The fight scene was so bad that you don't even know how the hell all those characters suddenly showed up. The worst part is that the fight itself is so lame....One time deathstroke holding a knife towards the enemy and you thought he was going to use that knife to stab, then the next panel he changed body position to kick the enemy instead....UNBELIEVEABLY LAME! The fight scene was a mess to say the most. The story is kinda choppy but it was ok actually, and I constantly think the ship that showed up at the end of this issue is so poorly designed. I think Rob just didn't know how to draw a cool ship so he just went with the plainest one....

Overall, it's, well, it was ok. I might give it a 3 out of 5...

Grifter and Hawkman are alright, but this book is just feels so wrong. It feels like a fan comic that would probably make it into the industry. But even his plotting on Grifter and Hawkman isn't very good. Don't get me wrong, he has good ideas in every book, but the execution and pacing is horrendous. Its apparent that he isn't a writer. I can understand if he is learning, but instead, why not give him a partner that he can learn from? If he was a better writer he could be someone like Scott Lobdell, but Lobdell wayyy out-writes him at the moment.

am i wrong or towards the beginning when lobo is on the motorcycle, is the drawing botched? shouldn't the mirror be visible and not blocked by lobo's right arm/hand?
