Oh, I wasn't referring to the High Evolutionary, but rather I meant The Evolutionaries - which was this group of neanderthals who one of the Eternals created into a guardian of evolution. It was these guys who wiped out the Neo in the story, 'X-Men: First to Last.' - http://www.amazon.com/X-Men-First-La.../dp/0785152873
I'd love a Neo/Children of the Vault/MLF book. Cyclops, Rogue and Wolverine could be the 3 main characters.
Why do we need more mutants when most of the ones out there now aren't being utilized properly?
Bring back my DC! In the meantime, make mine Marvel and Image!
Because more mutants doesn't mean more mutants in books.
If by 'more new mutants' you mean existing as backstory, sure. The whole brink of extinction thing's a bit of a bummer and I think could do with wrapping up. But I don't want any new mutants as main characters in books, no thanks. Not when there's a literal dumpster filled with mutants from the past that could come back and be reinvented/reused in fun and interesting ways.
Chance from the Fallen Angels series, for example. I'd love to see her out of mutant limbo and actually doing something in some book - she'd be fun.
Elemenals would be nice, but I think we have enough telepaths for now "although am a sucker for female telepaths". Anyways I was just day dreaming and was thinking prior to M-Day there were probably some mutants who had personal agendas that were put on pause thanks to Wanda. Perhaps like a depowered mutant who was on a quest of revenge, but now without their powers could no longer finish the task. Maybe in the wake of AVX something sparks up inside him or her and regains their power. Anyways thanks everybody for your comments and I await for me, peace.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Human/Eternal/Deviant cross breeding program designed and run by The High Evolutionary to repopulate the decimated mutant population.

I wouldn't mind if some mutants got repowered. However, not in the large scale it was before M-Day.
Some I really would like to see, like Moonstarn and Prodigy, since they are in the books still.
Also Scanner should return powered up. Her character and powers were both interesting and her story is not done yet.
without going into specific mutants I want back, I'm gonna say I really like the idea of taking the books in a new direction that isn't this whole "brink of extinction" mess.
I think "millions of mutants" may be a bit much, but I wouldn't mind seeing enough mutants come back to form a viable subculture of mainstream society again, rather than being segregated from it.
Mutant culture should be in your face. They should be loud and proud, Jumbo Carnation 10th anniversary limited reissue.
