Page 29 "... we have a challenge for you Mr. Zarov." "Can you kill a bullet proof man?"

Ok, so that is what I've collected so far. I do not have issue 9 yet, so I'm not sure if he shows up there.

From what I've gathered The Little Man is either Helping or Hindering Superman. With helping, I'm suggesting that he is helping mold Superman into the hero he is today, by putting him through "tests". I suggest this because of the Ghost and white dog talk.
Also the Little Man says "we" more than once. Is he part of something bigger? Or is he referring to the K-Men?

What are your thoughts? And if he is in issue 9. Please post what he does, or just wait till I get the book either this week or next.

Thanks for putting up with this winded post.

I also thought he was the guy next to Nimrod the Hunter in issue 8's prologue (last page).

He was. He also seems to appear in issue 89, when "Clark", "Lois", and "Jimmy" sell their Superman idea to a corporation, the one they talk to really looks like the Little Man.

But the question is Who he is?
Until now, we have a few clues:
Looks like he have reality distortion habilities: people who met him don't remember him later.
Time and dimensions are not problem to him: We have see him in the future, working with villians from Superman future,as the aforementioned Nimrod and corrupting the Superman concept in another reality.
He has to follow certain rules, there always are somekind of contrat or deal relative to his apperances (with, Glenmorgan, with the Superman creators, with Nimrod)

So, the principal suspects, based in this info and the Superman myths are two:

Mr. Mxyzptlk (Did I write it right?), in a darker mood (maybe he got bored with be only tricky). A five dimensional being, Time and space rules don't apply to him as for the others.
C.W. Saturn, demonic presence, and from Miracle Monday Fame. He was obbsesed with the corruption of Superman. But he had some time travel restrictions.

Also could be another Character from the mind of Morrison (brrr) or someone new. Or cuold be Dan Didio's comic avatar.( double brrrr).

Look under Issue 8 page 29! I caught that one, don't you worry.
Also, that guy is never called Nimrod the Hunter. He just refers to the bible verse.
The Little Man calls him Mr. Zarov.

I just caught that you did have it in your summary. My bad. As for calling him Nimrod, I was just taking the name used in the solicits for issue 10. And Nimrod was in issues 5 and 6. That Nimrod looked like a cyborg, though. It could foreshadow what happens to Mr. Zarov.

Yes, but Nimrod the Hunter would become his alias. Besides, in AC #6 appears a guy that looks like a robot cowboy with some weapons that could easily be Mr. Zarov in a future time.

I personally think it's DCnU Mr. Mxyzptlk...and I think Morrison dropped a BIG clue in an interview that many, including myself, almost forgot. The following excerpt is from an interview he did with Comic Alliance early last August.

COMICS ALLIANCE: And after the first arc, we're going to be catching up the present day?

GRANT MORRISON: Pretty much. Actually, the whole thing is much more complex than that, because I wanted to do a big story involving time. It's got the Legion in there -- a slightly different version -- and it's a big timeloop story. So we're seeing some of the past stuff, then we cut to the present, and then we go back to areas in the past so it's really a big, big story in the same way I did with Batman, telling the entire story of Superman's life but in a different way from Batman, which was much more linear and drawing on the elements of the past. This one's actually quite dynamic and moves through his life, and it's kind of Superman's life as seen from a five-dimensional perspective.

So, I think it's either Mxy, or some other new character from the fifth dimension.

Clarks' landylady may also be a clue. He calls her Mrs. Nyxly!
She also knew Clarks' other identity.

That's because she's Eastern European (probably Polish)

She also knew Clarks' other identity.
She didn't know it, she discovered it when she spotted the cape in his back. Prior to that, she thought he was a good guy with a good heart and good, expressive words - who got beat up now and then.

I think Mxy and CW Saturn are the best guesses so far.

Being half Polish myself, most polish last names end in "ski" (cause we can't spell toboggan! lol)

Respectfully disagreeing with you on this one. I was just trying to say that Nyxly sounds like Mxy, and that it might be a clue.

Again I will respectfully disagree. To me when she enters Clarks room in Issue #3, she makes a direct motion of going towards his gym bag. Her arm is already stretched out as if she knew to go for it.
But that is my opinion. :)

I know, but I know many Pols who don't have a 'ski' in their name, too. So it's still 'workable' in that regard :)

Or it could tie in to the guy who curated the Metropolis Music Museum (around the time of the Sandman Superman)...

Noted, however I interpreted the scene as her spotting the cape in the bag, realising what it meant and removing it before any of those searching the room could find it. She did it to protect him.

Later, though, she does seem to try to 'tempt' him when they have that conversation on the rooftop...

Observing The Little Man in Issue #6 which I overlooked in my original summary, needs to be documented.
This is The Little Man 5 years in the future. His finger nails are pointy like claws. Also he has blue fire coming off his face in certain spots. Notably the corner of his right eye.
Isn't a blue flame usually shown to depict magical fire?

So if 3-D space is Earth
4-D space is The Bleed (Superman Beyond 3-D)
5-D space is Mxy's Magical realm.

Where does Tesseract space fit in? Small outside, big inside.
